tip: you must start with a jab after flight mode to connect .
doing the fly flierce combo i only use 2 buttons , why make it harder using 3 buttons for u guys having trouble , just making it harder for urselves
i use the A B C layout and i just input fly then c then dash with bc so its fly c , bc , c ,bc ,c , bc ,c etc etc
this way you only need to use two fingers and two buttons and you just add B when u wanna dash cos your pressing C everytime
after inputing fly your first fierce should hit opponents feet , then you know you can get all 7 reps no probs .
if your not hitting their feet your doing the fierce after fly too slow , you should input C just before mags turns all the way round from fly mode if that makes sense .
good luck
easy peazy
2nd for explaining it.
I’ve already figured out that after the first hyper grav I have to SJ back asap so the opponent will float towards me in the air.
I manage to hit the jc s.C but the l hyper grav always whiffs. dunno what I’m doing wrong.
Sorry guys been on a hiatus for a bit. I’ll be updating the combos today and I’ll be weeding out all miscellaneous combos and just focusing on the ones that are must know. I think at this point we all know which combos we need to learn and can extrapolate on what can be done with Magneto. I won’t be able to get damage calculations on all combos until I get home today. If someone wants to do some of these combos and post up damage calculations I’ll just tag it to the first post. Again apologies for all the delays.
About damn time! j/k
I actually printed this thread (86 pages) but have yet to check it out and highlight the good stuff. <I did the same thing for MvC2 for all the big names/teams and have the pages in those protector sleeves in a big binder… so that bible is sitting in the garage somewhere, lol.
Anyway, this is the most informative Magneto thread for MvC3… along with MegamanDS’s
wrong…
Okay, the first page has been updated. I’ve highlighted all of the current BnB’s in blue now. There’s a lot of ways to start and end those combos and many of the loops lead into other loops but this is just for basics. There’s some damage calculations in the combos and rough damage ranges for some that have variable damage. Vairable damage combos are usually due to the random nature of Magnetic Tempest. I’ve added as many useful videos to some of those loops but I didn’t want to add others that got too fancy because it would confuse people trying to learn the combo but there are plenty of youtube combo vids for Magneto that let you extrapolate on what he can do.
This shit ain’t Facebook son. <3
Thanks for the first post update sir!
Lolwhat? I use fierce after fly.
ok i see the first page is updated i have a question like the fly fierce combo how can that lead to the rom itself while u are in flight mode? thanks.
I think we should post a Q and A on the first post as well to deteriorate questions coming up?
That being said, I have a question
After you input FLY is it possible to link to L or M FIRST before hitting the H to make it easier for some of us noobs trying to learn these loops?
EDIT: **For those of you trying to just get the hang of the Magneto Fly Loop this is a WONDERFUL way to learn it.
Input: S-jump H-airD-m-h-fly-L-H-air dash-H in the corner to do it. When you start getting comfortable with how the rhythm feels, just take it outside of the corner. Also, you can get rid of the L once you have a feel for it if you want. I choose to keep the L there to make sure I connect after the fly. I find combos are always easiest to learn in the corner due to the lesser knock back. double edit: I just tested this outside of the corner and it also works. In fact, I think its a much more reliable way to constantly land the combo. It comes out 4 frames faster than air M or H and since it is a loop you can get pretty solid damage regardless. IMO, this is a great route to take because it ensures you land it consistently. Dropping combos= bad news bears.
Also, for pad players: Map one of the triggers to be two buttons (LM, MH, LH) so you just input two button presses. It’s not that hard to do this on pad once you get a feel for it, incase some of you play on pad like me.
**So, the combo I am doing is:
CRL-CRM-CRH-S-H-air dash-M-H-fly-L-H-Fly-H-Repeat to do S to assist pressure, lvl 3 hyper or whatever.
If you spend like a good hour in the training room, you’ll eventually get it. Easily one of the games hardest bnbs to learn next to Vipers and probably Dooms. (I’m not a Doom player but his stuff looks hard.)
This is what I do, it seems to be the easiest/most realiable way (using LMH S):
cr. LMHS, j.H, adf, j.M, j.H xx fly, j.H, adf, (j.M, j.H, adf, j.M, j.H, adf) x 3~4 reps. Finish the last one with an j.S. Then you could use deadpool assist otg x hyper grav x tempest (I use She-hulk otg).
After the first air dash forward, you can cancel into fly from only using j.H, but I find that that is 10x harder to land. Adding the j.M before the j.H sets them high enough above you for them to fall down a bit while you are canceling into fly so that they are level with you when you hit the next j.H.
The repetition part after fly can be done with all H’s if you like, but it’s much less forgiving in terms of time and height. If you do only H’s, you have to do it really quick and the opponent tends to fall down much easier. Throwing in the j.M gives you a lot more time and keeps the opponent at a nice level. You could always mix it up and just throw in one j.M in the middle of the repetition part to keep them up.
Hope this helps!
I’m finding I’m getting better results if I delay the first sj.u H after the launcher as it leaves the opponent higher in the air… Still no where near the full combo, i"m going crazy with this one
You’ve printed this thread for Magneto? Damn you are dedicated bro. Props to you and I wish I could do that, but my printer is old as fuck.
Anyways TO ALL SERIOUS MAGNUS PLAYERS: I need help doing the tri jump correctly. I know how the motion being that I use him a lot, but I want to be able to go ham on dudes ya know? Basically I just need to learn how to hit them before I come down from the tri jump.
Do you have to hit jab before you jump or at the peak?
+:h: ~ :l::df: allows you to do it almost instantly.
only if you do sesame street combo j. H adf H xx fly, if you do j. H adf, j. M, j. H xx fly, you can start with j. M or j. H.
Actually, if you jab after j. H adf j.M, j.H, you’ll pop them up way too high
I’ve been looking for a particularly easy BNB in terms of inputs and timing and this is basically what I’ve been using:
j.S, 2H, S, jc jH, 66 jH, 896L, (land) 2H, S, jc jH, (wait) 33 jH, (land), jH, 66 jM, jH, (land) H, 214L, 27 33, jC, (land) C, 214L, 214AA
-776,700dmg
-Builds 40% of a bar
-Carries midscreen to corner
-scratch changing directions, doesn’t work well
-Meterless end with a 5H, S, jH, jS for 608,900dmg (builds a bit over 1.8 bar)
I’m not sure if I can get more 214L’s in the corner or not (never tried), but I’ll give it a whirl when I have some time. You can obviously get more damage with a level 3 hyper. I’ll make a video this weekend if anyone is interested.

edit2: Not too much more damage for adding more 214L loops. 791,400 and builds 67% of a bar. Meterless does 633,600 and builds 1.99bar.
jab is the easiest to follow up after flight mode, from there you have unlimited dashes til your flight ends . however the most easy basic combo for mag is the j.h xx j.m, j.h… practice it mid screen than corner .
note: you should ne normal jumping not high.
j.S, cr.L, cr.M, cr.H, S, j.H, IAD, j.M, j.H, fly, j.M, j.H, IAD, j.H, IAD, j.H, IAD, j.H, IAD, j.H, IAD, j.H, j.S, Dante (B assist), Magnetic Tempest.
Magneto 662k corner combo can be started midscreen.
Dante assist B used to otg into Magnetiuc tempest.
