MvC3: Two Girls one Corpse: The Hsien-Ko Thread!

I’ve personally done it. It’s quite nice.

Not that I can tell. I saw her plow through Chaotic Flame and hit Dormammu.

I just thought up of idea. instead of BNB to OTG Swords Super->Dry Tag-> Super.

You can OTG Swords Super, Dark Force DHC (Hail for example).

Too Good.

3 Meters can be pricey, but her DF assist is WAY worth it.

Random Notice from stream today: If you hit them out of the air with the dizzy items, it leads to “hard knockdown”, like after getting smacked down from an air combo. Easily comboable then!

We all know her traditional OTG options… but I swear I saw her OTG with a close grouching normal once today, as well. Might warrant some experimenting.

And thanks for the Chereitou -> Tag -> DHC tip, that is a good point. That’s one of the things I thought about in her chara-trailer, but lost the thought lately, lol.

Oh, and it’s ALSO worth noting that her timed bombs don’t seem to hurt her anymore. Which is pretty nice… Viewtiful Joe’s still hurt him!

Love hearing all this stuff. Although people are pointing to her health and speed, it sounds like she’s got plenty of gimmicks and is more than the sum of her parts, so to speak. So hype for DF Pendulum assist.

I got to play the game today for about an hour at Best Buy. Our girl is a bit on the slow side but that armored pendulum assist is very good. Can’t call it out recklessly because of the somewhat slow startup but once it’s going you’re not hitting her out of it with anything short of a beam hyper from what I can tell. Also Ryu isn’t as bad as people say I think. Shinkuu is amazing, piss easy to combo into/out of and actually does pretty great chip. I was having trouble wrapping my mind around the controls but towards the end I was starting to get the hang of things. Will be going back tomorrow to try some different teammates for her.

Another question: out of curiosity, how many times does Chireitou hit against a blocking opponent? Does it knock them back at all, or does it just hit twice or so and then go past? And is there space for them to do something between swords?

Good to hear that the stuff I was thinking of actually works. Sounds more likely now that it should be possible to continue the combo without switching her out (possibly via an assist.)

Actually, if hitstun scaling allows and you felt like burning 4 meters, you could do the free tag and then DHC all the way back to Hsien-ko, couldn’t you? That’d be funny if nothing else.

In the video you posted, that didn’t combo, but does it combo with correct timing? Or alternately, by using a different air normal instead?

Also, damage data for the first combo would have been nice, but it’s appreciated anyway.

Dunno if this was already mentioned it, but Lei-Lei’s projectile star also stuns Assist characters.

It’s pretty godlike.

That’s essentially a death sentence for an assist. Awesome.

Question, do the Anki Hou projectiles hit one person then stop or do they go past one character to another? I’m guessing it stops after hitting one person but I want to be sure on this.

That’s freaking awesome.

I’m very dissapointed in myself that I haven’t kept up with Hsien-ko (tsk tsk). Anybody know what, if any, command normals she retains?

Her old f.HP is f.H.
I’m think she has a f.M as well but I can’t recall what it is.

If you guys haven’t read the portions of the guide that Capcom posted for Ryu and Wolverine, I suggest checking it out. Might give you some ideas for other characters.

She has her old f.MP and f.HP.

s.LP, cr.LP, j.LK = standard :l: attacks
s.MP, cr.MP, j.MP = standard :m: attacks
s.HP, cr.HP, j.HP = standard :h: attacks
cr.HK = stand :s:
j.HK = jump :s:

Okay, this is my current plan with hsienko now that gong assist is seeming to be worthless. If you see any flaws, please point them out. Trying to figure out a way to maximize trons cornergame, and hsienko seems like a great way to do it still, even without gong.

so you ko/snapback the opponent. Hsienko is in DF mode and tagged out, pendulum assist ready. Your in the corner, command grab character on point (Thor, Tron, Haggar, whoever), and you call out the pendulum. They get caught in blockstun as soon as they come out, no way to beat it since its invincible. You grab them as soon as the pendulum blockstun ends, combo off of it, end in a snapback, rinse and repeat for as long as you have the meter to sustain it.

Command grab can be subbed for anything you think would work better, but the point is to get them in pendulum blockstun, then into some sort of combo (which seems easiest to accomplish with a command grab right now), and end w/snapback.

ATM the only things i can think of thatd beat it right now are XFC out of blockstun () or Dark Phoenix burst.

Obvious weakness seems to be the setup required for this. You obviously have to have a fair amount of meter for it (unless the combo after the command grab gives enough meter for the snapback each time), you have to get hsienko in, darkforce her, and get her out safely, and you have to ko/snapback the opponents first character.

I apologize if someone’s mentioned this first, like i said, im just theorycrafting right now in prep for launchday.

If there mashing on random shit like Super it’ll beat that strategy but the theory is fine. I’ve tested command grabs with the pendulum assist and it’s nice.

With Sentinel you do command grab, launch, sentinel BnB kill a character.

I’ll be going back to Best Buy tomorrow to play a bit more, are there any specific teams you guys want me to try?

I humbly request that you experiment Hsienko/Tron/Sentinal w/otg assist using the strategy i posted and the one killey posted with sent. IIRC sent has an otg assist, which tron needs to open up her relaunch combo after her command grab. Dunno if its fast enough to work though.

Another idea i was mulling around was incorporating viewtiful joes slowdown handjob into the mix, maybe it makes it harder for the victim to escape the DFpendulum+grab+combo+snapback loop if they’re slowed, and the handjob goes well with snapbacks anyway (according to keits, it lasts a long time and people stay slowed even when they’re sitting on the bench.)

Allright, I’ll try some of this out. Joe’s Slow + Snaps have me interested. You essentially deny them access to their assist unless they just wanna get it killed. Not too confident in the relaunch combo because of hitstun decay though. I’ll give it a shot though. Keep in mind that my execution is also complete ass at this point.

Try her with haggar on a team. I plan on having both of them together, and I think they would help each other well.

this makes me smile

Not sure if this has been mentioned, is Hisen-ko an unlockable character? If so, what are the conditions to unlock her?
