My team is Wolverine (Berserker Slash) Akuma (tatsu) and Dante (Weasel Shot)
I usually start Wolverine on point and use those two assists to keep my opponent in lockdown. Weasel shot is actually a pretty good assist for corner pressure as well. It doesn’t hit low, but you can mix up with over heads, dive kicks, etc. Plus Akuma assist + Wolverine = OTG combos for free.
Weasel Shot might not be as good as Jam Session for combos, but it’s also a nice hit confirm to start a combo or at 3/4 screen (Max range on the assist) you can hit confirm to his hadoken super.
If anyone has comments, I’d like to hear feedback.
Anyone who has a teleport or like bezerker slash such as dante dormamu x 23 wolverine wesker zero i’m sure there’s more but you get the idea unless your using him on point then idk you should learn which order to choose your characters cuz you apparently are not good at it
ive been runnin akuma (tatsu) Mags (disrupt) doom (plasma)
ive been contemplating swapping doom for a few diferent charecters but im not sure who
ive been using doom bc his plasma is great for rushing, any i deas on a another charecter with an assist great for rushing other than sent try to get away from him for a little bit lol
I’ve been running: Amaterasu(Type B)/Storm(Type A)/Akuma (Type B), and have made my first major streak of 13 of ranked matches… And then I lost against a 9th Ranger (I’m only a fighter). So now I have 1 loss on my license.
Edit: Yesterday, I saw Justin Wong rocking Wolverine(Type Y)/Storm(Type A)/Akuma(Type B), and it really appealed to me. I think it was Winter Brawl that he used in. But! He then switched to his She-Hulk/Amaterasu/Tron B. team and stomped w/ them. But, I’m still liking his first team.
How do you guys feel about my team of She-Hulk(Torpedo), Trish(Peekaboo), Akuma(Tatsu)?
Tatsu assist helps against zoners by eating projectiles and has pushaway if you want them off you, while peekaboo helps control some space and stun. Tatsu can open the lane for She-hulk and be used to pressure once in, while constantly pushing them towards the corner where I want them. Setting up peekaboo traps helps my strat to corner them be more effective as they have a harder time moving forward. Torpedo assist helps high-low setups, especially with Akuma’s overhead. If She-Hulk dies I have Trish w/ tatsu assist to play both a strong keepaway and rush game. Akuma is also one of the best anchor imo for his dmg and chip etc. DHC’s are very good for the most part (can only DHC to She-hulk in the corner).
It’s amazing how Akuma loses quickly his life when cornered or rushdowned!! Is akuma fast and strong enough to get rid of three opponents just with the help of good assists or does he need to be switched with his partners during fights? Iron Man’s Unibeam or Haggar’s Doule Lariat seem to be good to push away characters like Wesker or Wolverine…
hsien ko is also great assist to push people in corners for massive damage, or to take the pressure away if akuma needs so room. Also taskmaster’s alpha assist is great with akuma’s teleport fro crossup combos.
My Team is Tron(gustaff)/Akuma(tatsu)/Shuma(Mystic Ray).
And i can say that this team has a lot of synergy=) It has the 2 most cheapest assists(gustaff.Tatsu)
Tron on point builds meter well + if she hits she scores a 100% damage combo (using 3 meters but its not a problem because u start with 1 and the combo builds 2.8 meters.).+ Tron with tatsu assist in close range is godlike in mid and full screen i use shuma assist.when Tron’s health is getting low i switch her for akuma.same strategy here in close range gustaff+teleport.if playing vs hulk or haggar or other char that doesnt like zoning you zone him with shuma assist and hadokens + when he comes close u gustaff fire and run away and hyper him=)+i like doing trons DP+AA special and if blocked and i have meter i go for the akuma 3lvl hyper throw DHC=)if he is not ready he might eat it=)and shuma is the best char i know to be left for x-factor lvl 3)he just needs to open up once 2 do 1500000 dmg.+after the combo he has meter for a lvl3 xfactor unblock when the next char comes out.and in xfactor lvl 3 the best thing about shuma is that his QCF+A combo(normally its insanely hard and situational thats why usually ur only option is tk QCF+M or tk QCF+l for a istant overhead )=)QCF+L is cool for cross up blockstun and chip but the usage is limited QCF+M is a ubercrossup tool QCF+H gets u really fast from from 1 side 2 the other +crossup=) not 2 forget his blockstrings in xfactor that chip godlike.and tons of instant overheads.+if shuma dies Akuma can be the xfactor3guy and chip the hell out . +its an anti phoenix team due to tron’s meter build and shumas lvl 3=)u just hav e to get 4 meter before ur openent gets 4.6 meters.than snapback switch fast 2 shuma lvl 3 xfactor cancel then jump and eat her.or if u have the time than dont xfactro. But usually i just switch 2 shuma when i have 3 meters do a combo that builds 1 meter than snapback in that combo than lvl3=)
What do you think guys?
I use Wolverine(bers charge) / Dante(jam) / Akuma(tastu) team quite often and the pressure is unbelievable but it seems dante is almost a fill in character. He is strong all around but he is not a point man, i feel like he is under used and doesnt synergize as well as i would like. There is a few characters i would like to try with Wolverine/Akuma for that is my main emphasis. I want to experiment with Taskmaster/Doom/Zero. Wolverine on point with with one of these guys can give Wolverine and Akuma good options for expanding there air combo’s with some good DHC . Also im curious how the meter building would be with such a team. If anyone has experimented with these 3 as a 3rd character i would like to hear it.
switched teams (again) and decided to try out akuma since I dropped him during my first week of playing mahvel. got frustrated with the reach of his normals which made it difficult to hit confirm, so I often found myself playing lame… and playing lame is so not my thing lol. I think I’m more comfortable using akuma now since my execution is much, much better (so I can land those big damage combos!). need to find more ways to get in since I’m usually just relying on demon flips and doom’s beam assist, which I think is pretty unsafe and not really practical since I’m using him as my team’s anchor. I could be wrong, though.
so my team is Wesker (low shot)/Doom (plasma beam)/Akuma (tatsu), for now at least. I seem to get better synergy with this team as opposed to my last team, which had Magneto over akuma, and had the doom rocks assist over beam. wesker is definitely my favorite character to use on point given his mixup and reset options, not to mention his normals, which themselves have gdlk priority and decent reach. he builds meter like a mofo too, in case it needs to be used when doom comes in to zone and throw in the occasional ToD. it’s also interesting to note that all members of my team are pretty good anchors themselves so in case the team order ever gets messed up during a match and akuma isn’t my last char as intended, it’s still fine. doom + the tatsu assist is so good. you pretty much have a choice of securing the horizontal space if you do beam or rocks + tatsu assist, or you can call akuma to cover you while using hidden missiles. good stuff.
Basically, anything holding the opponent in place or at least, keeping him busy while you move around/teleport to land that first hit. Dante’s weasel shot, Ammy’s cold star, Chun Li’s legs, Haggar’s Lariat, Tron’s fire, any multiple hits full-screen projectile (Task’s, Doom’s, Chris’, Thor’s, Sentinel’s, Storm’s, even Arthur’s).
Personally the team I’m starting to use Akuma in the most is Wesker (gun assist obv) Akuma (Tatsu) and Trish (Low Voltage). Akuma already dishes out a good bit of damage but having the Wesker assist for extended combos isnt a bad thing. Another thing with Akuma is after you kill off a character you can essential use his Ashura Warp with Trish’s Low voltage to go for the mixup. Most likely if someone sees you teleporting in as there next character is dropping their going to block in the wrong direction from an assist. As for using Akuma as an assist personally I think Tatsu is definitely the best by far. If your opponent is blocking your Wesker combo simply call the assist midstring and teleport either behind them hoping to mess up their block or teleport above them and go for the overhead. Just make sure to vary it from time to time. Also when playing with Trish, if you do decide you wanna take the keepaway route then tatsu does a pretty good job of it. Personally, this is just the team I’m usually currently although I do switch Trish out for Wolverine or Taskmaster at times. Just depends on my mood.
