MvC3: "She only resembles your mother" The Trish Thread

That is a good question. I know command moves beat it. I also think that if you dont jump into the peekaboo you wont get hit. its weird gotta do more testing.

@3:47 I do the combo

Jump attacks & projectiles destroy peeakboo.

a few more hours in training mode and I’ll have this down 100%. lol

Think of it as a 2nd Flame Carpet which is great, peekaboo is pretty easy to avoid since it can be destroyed by normals jump attacks, hopscotch on the other hand doesn’t have that weakness, and it can defend both ground and air or at least slow them down a bit with the projectile it fires off when they travel over it.

How likely is it that they would go out of their way to attack the trap and how feasible would punishing it with something be? the traps as assists feel like they have about the same level of use scotch migh be a little safer overall but the risk reward might be better with peek (pending on the feasibility of punishing unsafe trap destruction).

At this point its not that common because a lot of players don’t know Peekaboo can simply be crushed by Jumping attacks, haven’t tried punishing Opp for destroying traps but I have been destroying traps with Dormammu.

Yea some one should jump into training mode and do some detective work.

Well what attacks destroy it so i can try setting up a recording of laying the trap and doing a super a few seconds later

Zero’s jump :h: beats it and projectiles.

How much damage does this do?

midscreen-548,700 w/ super

corner-566,700 w/ super

anywhere without super-368,100

Pretty much anything will destroy a Peekaboo trap. You should assume such for most situations however, I believe it is hitbox vs hurtbox.

However, the main problem with her other trap Hopscotch is that if she is hit by anything hopscotch disappears. So you must choose carefully as to deal with certain tactics.

vs. Super Skrull and Dante: I like to lay hopscotch and stand on top of it. If Dante teleports he gets hit by the trap, if Super Skrull does meteor smash hopscotch will beat it clean.

thanks so much I was wondering … maybe some of what her strengths are. It is taking em some time to get this bnb down.

I dont think we will see any strategy that revolves around stopping her traps, she can do a lot of things at once so…I’m not sure if stuffing each peekaboo she throws on screen is going to get you very far.

I keep hearing about Trish got unblockables setups on streams, so what are they?

yeah she has unblockables and what not with certain assist. I think she has an unblockable round harvest setup. Im still testing it out because sometimes people say they can block and sometimes they can block.

I need some of you guys to test this out:

-See if theres anything the opponent can do about a divekick cancelled into a trap. If there is, then calling assist into divekick xx trap

I’m trying to see about some kind of lockdown I can get going.

Also if anyone didnt know, she can cancel and empty divekick into a trap 3 times in the air, not counting if you cancel into flight so…its kinda useful for people that wait for her to come down, and they just end up eating a couple hopscotch traps.

I think since we are Trish players we dont truly realize how annoying she is to deal with.

I still wish low voltage was faster.

I’m gonna assume it was Matt Coma seeing he’s the only person I know playing trish with unblockable setups in the open (that I know of).

pretty much does a basic Trish BnB but instead of ending the air BnB with super, knocks you back to the ground, Round Harvest, Raw Tag into Dante, calls Viper assist (with burn kick), teleports, hit’s you low with Dante as burn kick hits overhead. He was saying the timing’s tight but the setup is there.

I dunno how reliable it is or can be as he hasn’t converted into actual damage post unblockable regardless if you’re standing or not.

Hey guys, I use Trish/Wolverine and I use the Round Harvest tag switch a lot. Basically do an air combo ending with J.S, Land, Round Harvest and switch to Wolverine. Then I quickly wave dash in for a mix up and I usually land it, but after the patch I can’t land Wolverine’s instant overhead during Round Harvest even when they are crouch blocking.

I think that now they made it that Trish’s Round Harvest puts them in absolute guard. I haven’t tested this with any unblockable set ups, but if the overheads don’t work then I don’t think an unblockable would work either.

Can someone test this?

Edit: Nevermind, I think my studying has gotten to me. Seems normal

Quick questions. Is standing :h: a good anti air agains obvious air attacks like Zero’s jumping :h:? And what’s the best way to deal with Dante’s teleports with Trish? Is using hopscotch reliable?

If the Zero’s just :h: is mad easy to see then do launch instead of :h: do a combo etc…

To stop a date teleport you can do a few things. 1 if its a obvious teleport do jump back throw to punish him. 2. lay a hopscotch and stand over it if teleports it should hit. 3 kill dante really fast and he cant teleport any damn where lol.

H is good since you get the added bonus of canceling it into a trap if they block.

But like Shakugan stated, if their getting super predictable just S.

I like how Trish can dash over someone to the other side after a ground throw (im a new trish player). I noticed with some of the larger characters like MODOK that she is unable to do this. Do you guys use any sort of shenanigans after a ground throw and if so what sorts? Im trying to make my Trish a very agressive mix up mistress even though I know it is probably smarter to lay traps and zone.
