MvC3: "She only resembles your mother" The Trish Thread

  • X-23 offers a Low assist that can both OTG and set up unblock-ables.
  • Perhaps someone with DP assist? How is her hopscotch/peek-a-boo as an anti-air?

Her Level 3 is called “Duet Pain”.

One of the best for sure. Anyway how the fuck do I do this chick’s mission 8? the timing is hella weird for Dante to come in. Do I do it at the same time as her st.A or st.B?

BTW she has alot of fun combo possibilities with peekaboo, hopscotch, dive kick and her double jump. She may not hit that hard but I think she has tons of reset potential with all the above mentioned. Also an 8 way air dash.

  1. I’d say Wesker is better for her. Better DHC’s, high stamina, he feels like a better character overal.

  2. I’m not sure if Trish needs a GTFO move like Morrigan’s Shadow Blade, pushblock works fine to me. Anyway, I tested Peekaboo with Iron Man (and a few others) who, IMO, might have the best triangle jump in the game (because he can actually attack out of it fast enough). I was able to hit Peekaboo out of the air fairly reliably, granted it is training mode where I could take my time and judge the jump distance, but still it will not work 100% of the time. Hopscotch on the other hand is GODLIKE, no matter how hard I tried you cannot hit it at all. Just put this on the ground step back a little and don’t worry about triangle jumps. It even stops grounded opponents pretty well. Just beware moves that go though projectiles (Berserker Slash), really long range moves (Ammy’s Beads), and Sentinel, his normals can destroy projectiles.

Do it exactly as it says or the game won’t register it. You have to press B and A2 almost at the same time. I managed to do it once but then dropped the combo later . Will try this mission today again.

So, what types of assists does she need aside from ones that OTG?

So, those of you that have played the game, what teams are you thinking about with Trish and/or what characters do you think work well with her so far?

I like Trish/Sent/Dante Sent allows for rushdown and mixups. You can also use his assist to play keep away with low voltage. Now with Dante his jam session assist is great. It acts as a anti air and as a assist you can combo off of. I was also using Trish/Storm/Dante but Storms whirlwind assist isnt that great. I still have more testing to do, but I like Trish/Sent/Dante.

yeah do, st.B + A2, then cr.C. and you should be fine.

no, it doesnt. Crystal OTGs

If you guys don’t mind my asking, what are some of Trish’s BnBs?

i like crouching a,a,a,a,b,c,s (launch) a,b,c, ultra in air works pretty good of her dive kick

I too highly recommend Dante (jam session)/Trish (low voltage)/Sent (regular drones) in that order. Simply incredible synergy, great dhcs, can easily kill assist characters, easy combos, great x factor combos, well balanced between rush and run away, and so much more.

The best solo combo I have found with Trish is triangle jump weak, land cr. weak, cr. strong, st. fierce, lauch, jump up forward into strong, double jump up forward into strong, strong, fierce, fireball super. It is half life on most of the cast.

If you prefer using Trish to runaway, use st. fierce to catch people jumping, then launch, jump up forward into strong, double jump up forward into strong, strong, fierce to knock down, then land and do sword spin. Instead of attempting to run forward during the block stun, you can use the time to throw a fierce fireball, then set each of the traps and continue on running. Don’t forget to try fly mode up dash while setting ground trap. It is so good.

For the team listed above, I prefer to use her to build up meter. Sent and Dante are able to use it way more efficiently then she can. Which is why I run Dante first, once you land his bread and butter, it builds just enough to dhc into her fireball super. You can try to chip out their point character with her, punish a raw tag, or rush them down after they dhc into their next character. Her turtly runaway game helps stock up super so you can land an air combo and partner switch back into a mean sent combo or back to dante to combo into super.

For assist killing, three meters can kill any assist. Dante’s gun, into Trish fireball, into hyper sent force. Or you can blow x factor to kill an assist too with three supers, but I strongly suggest keeping x factor for Sent.

I prefer her low voltage assist for Dante. After landing Dante’s bread and butter into super, you can call her and immediately teleport. The timing on it is perfect, it locks them down nearly the same time you appear from teleport, you can dash, press fierce, or land and go low. Her assist stops them from air throwing you out of the teleport and is useful when you start mistiming it so you can dash to either side. Such a nasty set up.

I’m really enjoying Trish right now. I also suggest using Chun with lightning legs as the third if you don’t want to hop on the “sent does way too much damage and I’m trying not to play him” bandwagon.

So, would you recommend Trish for meterless damage? From what you said, it sounds like she needs the meter for her BnB.

Ideally, I would rather save up the meter for Dante or Sent. Again, they are able to do far more damage with one level of super. I do use the combo stated above as her BnB. If Dante dies, I revert to dealing damage by rushing down with her. For rushing, call sent, then you can do a straight foward air dash fierce to lock the opponent in place, then drones get blocked (or they hit if you are lucky), then do high low tricks with her to land the BnB.

I prefer her as a runaway when possible. Dante covers the area above and in front of her, Sent chips and stalls, giving you ample time to stay in the air and throw fireballs, set traps, throw the boomerang, and build that meter. However, since she is so versatile, if your opponent is turtling, feel free to move forward and mix it up.

Gotcha. To remove any mystery, I was wondering if she would have any place on a Phoenix team, but I’m a little wary of it. At this point, I may just stick her on a team with a whole bunch of other versatile characters (i.e. Storm, Dante, Sent, and possibly even Ammy.)

So i know this probably doesn’t go here, but…

Trish’s aeriel H can be followed up with a 2H (A dive kick likes Seth from SSF4). I don’t know what use it has now, but it puts you on the ground out of sight wile they are in the air.

Edit: made some mistakes

Im running Trish/Storm/Amaterasu but I’ve had Dante in the back of my head for quite some time with Trish.

So you say teleport shenanigans are strong eh…

I use Round Harvest on knockdown for mixup in the corner with the Dante’(Jam session assist) or even normal sent force. other than that i dont use meter with Trish unless I know the combo is going to kill. I will have some vids up soon my capture card should be in tomorrow morning.

The teleport tricks work really well versus Sent but not all that great vs everyone else. I use it but not so much that I come predictable.

I kind of like the Chris/Trish combo. Chris builds up meter nicely and he doesn’t really ever spend it. Trish can use meter pretty well. Her peekaboo assist might be the best assist to help Chris out since he can’t anti air at all and it synergizes nicely with his land mine to make it that much harder to safely get in on him. I haven’t tested yet to see if his land mine assist OTGs but I’m going to guess that it is too slow.

Shouldn’t you be able to add Divekick, :l: Low Voltage before Fireball Hyper?

I also agree on Chris/Trish combo Mazuli suggests, only I prefer Hopscotch instead, it is way better as AAA.

I think you mean the combo at 3:19 Shoryuken - Just a Taste - Marvel vs Capcom 3 Combo Video I will be using that from now on. If you land a launcher as an anti air, I’m not certain if it will work though because the opponent might be too high, but I’ll be able to find out in a couple of days.
