Yep, I believe they can still pushblock it to keep you full screen if you tag someone in during the hyper. Someone correct me if I am wrong though.
Both of them seem useful I’m not sure which one is better though. One use(well, probably gimmick) I had for Hopscotch was to use it during flight mode(as Morrigan) and try to lame people out with fireballs and stay on top of the screen since they wouldn’t be able to see exactly where the trap was if they were on the ground.
I used Peekaboo more though. I would generally plant the assist while they were in the corner in case they wanted to jump out when I was rushing down. Otherwise I guess it could help your characters’ zoning for the obvious reasons since it is invisible.
Despite my hopes being crashed for Round Harvest before, I guess I could pair it with Ammy’s Bloom assist to grow meter while setting traps/chipping (sounds trollish :D), but I don’t know if I’d be willing to give up the awesomeness that is Cold Star for it, lol
god damn the 15th can’t come fast enough… theory fighting can only do so much D:
I really am starting to like Trish more and more as i see her it think with her and Viewtiful Joe on point and Dr.Doom shield assist i could do some work. I really cant wait till feb. 15 it just cant seem to make its way here. For some reason i see her as a kinda replacement of strider because it looks like she works so well with him. Though i think the key to playing her will be switching back and forth between keep away and rushdown.
I want to see Ice Storm --> DHC Round Harvest --> DHC Stalking Flare --> XFC Stalking Flare --> Chaotic Flames. That will probablay kill Phoenix on block.
Kinda. She’ll plant it and hopefully your opponent will run into it. It’s possible it might be able to extend combos though, since she can combo into Peekaboo herself.
What are your guys’ thoughts on her low voltage assist. It reminds me of Doom-rocks in sorts that it comes out quick, covers the entire horizontal play space and could open up avenues to keep - keepaway characters spamming projectiles at bay while your rush down characters close in.
All of her assists can act as AA at certain angles.
Hopscotch: this one is a pure AA projectile, the main problem with it is the projectile speed, it is not fast enough to catch a high AD, on the other hand, this is good, because it forces the opponent to superjump. And you can’t see the trap if you jump too high. It might be a good protection against tri dashes, because of how low it is. At least I don’t think you can destroy it (both Hopscotch and Pekaboo disappear if you hit them) from the air.
Peekaboo: unlike Hopscotch, you can’t airdash through this, but you can hit it instead, although considering it is barely visible this is no easy task. Usually it freezes the opponent long enough to dash in> launcher (or simply launch, if you’re close enough). AFAIK Doom can’t cancel his ground dash, not sure if Sent can, but at least his launcher seems to have really good range.
Low Voltage: a rare example when a non-beam projectile assist is actually good. Damage is comparable to beams, and it is much faster (and consequently, it is more spammable) than beams. The hitbox (for a projectile) is HUGE, so much so that it can catch airbourne characters. The only problem that the highest projectile will whiff against crouching characters, but, it might work in your favour if the opponent calls an assist while his point character blocks the other two. I don’t think that the highest projectile connects on midgets though.
I’m not sure what is going to work best with Doom/Sent, beause we haven’t seen Sent’s assists in action yet. But I guess Low Voltage is out of question, if Sent’s drones are good.
I saw a video of it before, but it was some time ago and it was a random match. Basically impossible for me to find it now at this point.
However, I do remember it being implemented well. It came out fast and did solid damage, in fact it was because of that video that I decided to ask on what other people’s thoughts were on Trish’s low voltage, thinking that it looked really good.
