MvC3 SFIV KOFXIII producers mention CvS3! We want CvS2HD Online Edition and Capcom-vs-SNK-3 please!

Not only SNK characters felt really off, Capcom characters in general were quite watered down and simplified.

But they were incredibly powerful as well.

I really wanted the SNK characters to have more say so in CVS2 - I still enjoyed the game but there were better ways to implement the said characters. The first CVS was pretty cool, but many of the SNK character and EVEN Capcom characters were missing a lot of moves. Some of which were actually SIGNATURE moves. It’s kind of awkward.
CVS2 fixed a lot of those issues but the SNK character themselves still had some odd tendencies… like not have normals that can be canceled into specials for some reason.

As for the characters themselves… I found Rock Howard to be pretty awesome! I had Mai as main for N/K groove, a few higher tier characters in my pocket, several other characters I liked. Iori Yagami was pretty solid. Hibiki was very nice… very good poking tools. You couldn’t really go wrong with Geese Howard either. Kyo… As weird as he felt, he was still easily viable, though his implementation in this game took some time to get used to. Imagine going from playing 98 to playing CVS2 with Kyo. Yeah. One has to be really careful. Athena had a lot of tricks up her sleeve, too. Pretty good runaway if you ask me… very nice. I mess around with Vice, Terry, and Ryo himself frequently too. The only legitimately bad characters in this game is Dan and… King of all characters! The roll cancel can easily make a lot of characters more viable. The players will get past the execution barrier in order to do this however.
I know that CVS2 is out in Japan as a “PS2 Classic” - but, it would be a lot better if we had a CVS2 HD with online features - this make CVS2 tournaments a lot more easy if this were the case. If there is going to be a CVS3 out at some point, I hope the individuals in charge of the project will be careful and not make any rash decisions…

If it’s the same Playstation Classics version on the Japanese PSN, who cares?

Well if a good amount of people purchase this version we come one step closer to a CVS2 HD or even CVS3.

Its a small step in the right direction, but yeah its still not that big of a deal.

Has there been a precedent for a PS2 classic PSN game to get an HD online re-release. As far as i know, there is none, which is why im not excited by this news as it lacks online play. I can just play CVS2 on friends arcade cabinet.

But i hope it sells well, then Capcom hopefully smells money and starts developing modern versions.

ba-da-bump!

no new news lately other than delayed PS2 Classic port.
