No, you’re wrong.
It took a team of 2 designers and 8 random starving artists SNKP pulled off the street–chained to their desks and living off a bowl of rice and a glass of their own piss–about 4 years to create all 20 characters in KOFXII.
The thing is Capcom is a company that ACTUALLY MAKES MONEY, so they can do crazy things like hire a full team of professional animators to make sprites.
Capcom’s team created the entire SNK side of CvS1, plus Bison and the Shotos in less than a year.
Exactly, Capcom is very well off, defintely much more than whats left of SNK.
They could easily make a full 2D game, and a beautiful one at that also, which is why its even more dissapointing that they don’t.
Also to add to the thread, unlike MvC3, Capcom can fully market the game in Asian markets as well, compared to only heavy marketing for MvC3 in the US/Europe.
agreeing with the general consensus here that i am skeptical of a capcom-made cvs3
reasonable expectations?
also >implying blazblue players are going to just flock to a game that doesnt have character mechanics like carl’s, rachel’s, litchi’s
“In an interview with Fighters Front Line, Kukino replies that each character took 16~17 months to complete with a team of 10 different designers. Additionally, the sprites were personally checked by Nona for quality.”
I assume he means that all characters were completed in 17 months? Because 20 characters each taking this long is just impossible.
@pherai What 2d game do you see capcom making in the future? Street Fighter V? lol.
Release CvS2 online, gain interest, announce CvS3. Same thing happened with marvel.
