For it’s time, SNK characters never looked better. Also you was probably bad at CvS2 and got hit by Blanka RC electricity all day. OCV brings hate.
i think everyone should face it, if a cvs3 were to ever come out, it wouldn’t be cvs2.5. capcom wouldn’t use systems from the 90’s for a game circa 2012. sf alpha, sf3, kof98, and samurai showdown modes wouldn’t see the light of day. MAYBE custom combo mode, but that’d be about it. a more modernized cvs would incorporate systems from more modern capcom and snk games…namely sf4 and kof13. the other systems could possibly be a toss up between kof11, kof12(yuck), and a darkstalkers-like system (new ds game is on the horizon). so a cvs3 would have focus attacks, ex moves, ultras, chain combos, air blocking, drive cancels, blah blah blah. those who wouldn’t want sf4 (and all of its ‘problems’) in their cvs3 shouldn’t get their hopes up…it would definitely be there, but you’d have other options to choose from.
i’ll say this though, i wouldn’t want nitsuma producing the game. sorry, but his games are a little shallow.
Plus, all the SF4 models would come back, completely unchanged, with possibly a new filter. 10% of the roster will be DLC, and Capcom would release a better version of the game in about 8-14 months.

personally I care more about game play then how it looks. I dont give a shit about 2 minute ultras and characters that fill up the entire screen.

While better looking games AND better playiing/more fun games came out at that time(MvC2, GGX), CvS2 was for those who couldn’t keep up with the pace.

CvS2 is one of the most patchwork, paste and cut atrocities ever bestowed on the FG community. From the terrible visuals right down to the horrible ass Groove system, as it butchered all of the work that Capcom and SNK had done up until that point. From shitting on the SF3 characters and their groove, to dismantling the SNK characters to be generic throwaway Capcom characters, making the SS grove the LEAST evasive groove out of the six. This can go on and on.
Fucking game had a chance to be decent when the GC and Xbox ports came out. Took out the shitty RC’ing which I used and couldn’t fucking stand. It was too late by then. The majority of the retards felt like it needed to be in the game.
Somebody has to say something about this shitty game who isn’t scared of SRK. Bring it, bitches.

This is the most insightful post in this whole entire thread. Although I would have the XIII animation/art team working on it too to make it perfect. Don’t want it ending up looking like 3s with awful backgrounds and toned down brightness.
SNK players look good. But they played Half Ass compared to there original IMO . Not just the four buttons “SNK layout” to six buttons “Capcom SF Layout”. They change alot of there moves around which made certain KOF/SNK characters dull. Wishing the SNK character im playing could still do A and B like it was in the original, but Capcom changed the way that A and B hits, the active frames, and etc… Hell they even left out some simple ass moves for characters in KOF. Some changes were for the better and alot for worst.
For Example -Vice in KOF could link her Strong Kick into her DM (Super/Ultra for your SF’ers), Vice also has a normal overhead :f:+:p: . Iori has a overhead special move :dp:+:k:. Capcom decided to leave those thing out in CVS2?!?!. Couple of other simple ass things that could of been done but i dont wana rant lol I still love the game.
I give em dat they make SNK look good but thats about it. They did an so so job on how the SNK characters played.
You see, what SNK fans don’t realize… is that CvS2 is a Street Fighter game. It’s not KOF.
There’s this thing called “game design”, in which… you don’t just throw a bunch of shit together, regardless of what happens. You have to actually see how things work in conjunction with one another, and make proper decisions.
So Vice can’t combo into her Super… well… in SF games, you can’t combo grabs… so… if you actually thought that was going to make the transition, you’re an idiot. Vice is still very good in CvS2, without it. Iori doesn’t have an overhead special… OK… from what I know of '98 Iori (which CvS2 Iori is obviously based on), and it’s been a while so forgive me if I’m wrong, but he didn’t have any overhead special in that game. All of Iori’s moves from '98 came over into CvS2, and Iori was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the 2 extra attack buttons given due to CvS2 being a SF game. His medium attacks are GOOD. Jump Strong, Stand Forward, and Low Strong are all VERY good moves. Iori is also a VERY good character in CvS2.
K-Groove isn’t the least evasive groove in the game. P-Groove is EASILY the least mobile groove, with C coming in behind it. All of the SNK grooves are more mobile than the Capcom grooves, simply because of run. K-Groove also happens to be one of the 2 best grooves in the game, so I don’t know what the complaining is about. I put N-Groove as #3, personally… and I actually play the game (instead of bitching about how Benimaru doesn’t have X or Y move)… stop bitching.
Most of you SNK clowns aren’t even good at SNK games, so I don’t know why I’m even bothering with this, but your posts ooze with scrubbiness. You just want your characters to look cool when they’re on the screen. Never mind learning how to play the game in front of you.

K Groove has NO sidestepping/rolling AT ALL. Samurai Shodown 2 had rolling 2 years before KOF did and it is a big part of high level play…something you probably haven’t seen because you’re blind.

Two whole years before shitty, garbage, CvS2 came out. You couldn’t play the game that you supposedly say you play because your dumb ass would know that.
If you use the characters, use them correctly. Not in a boring, shitty, cut and paste, ugly ass game. Can’t tell you how disappointed in Capcom after that garbage. I can see why they stopped making FGs after that.

Since I actually play KOF, that move that Iori has isn’t actually an overhead. It just went over lows and beat out most GCCD and canceled into rekkas.
Man, I actually play KOF seriously and well and you guys are making me somewhat embarrassed.
Iori in CVS2 and Iori in 98 are two different beasts. CVS2 Iori has a great assortment of normals, RC Rekkas, lengthy hitconfirms, and fits well within multiple grooves such as C and N. 98 Iori has a stronger high and low game due to how hop mechanics work differently from CVS2, stronger command throw game, 4 point mix-ups with hyper hop j.4B cross-ups, anti-GCCD attacks, and pretty much could play any role and has all the tools in the game. They’re both good in their respective games but it’s within different contexts and game designs.
Sorry that the “veteran” SNK players are causing a muck. Most don’t even play the games they like seriously. I played KOF98 for about only 2 years and I could beast most of the older, US SNK “heads.”
On a different note, I’d like to get in on a CVS2 re-release with good netcode. Rock that K-Groove Hibiki, personally being a LB2 player. Different, but a dynamic and refreshing change up to her normals. I’d like to see a CVS3 done by Capcom, but have the 3D models done by Niitsuma’s team.

I also think CVS2 should be made re-released with good netcode first. Wont be as much money to do so and we dont have to worry about them messing up a new one.
