Woot!
Unfortunately I am working downtown until 6, so there’s no way I’m making this in time.
However I will be at the salty runback downtown tomorrow where I will recieve a fullscreen headbutt from Dugg during my wakeup.
Yea can’t make it. I have 2 finals on Monday (bout to graduate) and I have to study most of the weekend for those. I am definately interested though if you have any future tournaments. So I will try to make the next one. I really want to get into an offline community in the Everett area.
Nice meeting you Bokkin. I was the guy with long hair that you didn’t play that was mainly watching.
How did it go tonight? Will there be another one sometime soon?
It’s a nice venue but there was some serious issues…no turnout…and no sf4 copy…with only 1 close setup (considering the turnout this wasn’t an issue)
GGs to all and nice meetin people.
If they have it next time I could bring a SF4 copy and what not… even though I really only play Marvel right now.
The main problem is that for every competitive game here in WA (mvc3/ssf4/smash/halo) no one really lives near marysville. so for it to be worth a tournament/drive for most people, it would need 15-20 people. with $15 fee there would been good winnings for whoever won even with only 10-15 people.
also its hard to dedicate 3-4 or even more setups when only 2 people outside marysville showed up… haha. i ran a smash tournament there once and had 3-4 setups going with around 15 people and it was cool
Oh the setup #s issue wasn’t a problem but I’m pretty sure we can get more people now that it is known that the venue is is nice place to hold even causal events maybe with a round robin tourney if there is a lack of players.
Marysville is a good location for a certain area. Mainly those in the north around bellingham and those shoreline and above. A good median point and it’s close to food and the highway. THe location is perfect for this. As for it becoming a serious tournamnet location for the Seattle NW fighting game community thats is not really an option. For leveling up those without alot of in person options it is a perfect place so that come NW Majors or any other big tourney in the area not only will you guys in the area know what to expect but you’ll be able to ready yourselfs.
You have to WANT to win. You have too HATE to lose. And you have to LEARN from your losses. But you can’t just magically do that by yourself. Online will get you only so far. This venue is a good place to start something. Luck3n was on point by requesting the place every 2nd Friday of the month. You guys should be able to make it to that and a good portion of the north crew should be able to make it as well. I know that there are players up there that want to get better and I’m sure car pooling wouldnt be that hard.
$15 is a steep touranment fee in the NW for fighting gamres nowadays. I don’t mind personally cause it puts a little more motivation to win and puts alot more salt on fresh wounds. I understand the place is a buisness and I think a $5 venue fee isn’t too much to ask. People permitting if we can get 20+ people 15$ would be fine but anything around 15 people or lower I feel a round robin would both be a better use of peoples time an money.
Yea I would for sure be willing to come to the next one. I will be done with school and have a lot more time on my hand especially on fridays. Really bummed I couldn’t make it out this time.
Every 2nd friday of the month we will be holding a tournament, and the more people that come the more games we can run. We just did 2 small time money matches and played casuals this time around, but if everyone can come next month, we can start doing legitimate tournaments. For now we can even use the venue as a simple place to run casuals for a few hours with more people. I can get more tv’s setup really quickly, I just don’t own a copy of super because I don’t play super. If people bring it, they can play it. I can get pretty much anything running, and although it wont be the biggest tournament joint in the seattle scene, it would be a good place to run casuals and have some money matches or tournaments. If someone wants a place to do legitimate money matches, you can do it there. If you guys just want a venue to run money matches, and everyone does pay a 5 dollar venue fee, I can help setup every single time =D
Hey
Ay yo, I just bought the downloadable SSF4, is that suitable to use for tournament play or are the inconsistencies? I’m not too far into the SF scene, so i don’t know.
i’ll be back in everett next week so i’ll be dropping by when i can. havent really played MVC3 but plan on getting into it seriously.
Downloadable is the same exact thing.
I only ask
Because as you well know, the version of mvc2 on xbox downloadable runs differently then say dreamcast or even old xbox version. And that being said, so does halo 1, and even a few other original xbox games seem to run funny imo. Either way, I have it on my box’s hard drive, which I’ll just bring next time. =D
This is because MVC2 for the 360/PS3 are new ports. They recoded the whole game so they wouldn’t get the terrible results they had on the original Xbox/PS2.
I figured as much
But I’m just checking is all =3
Hey
Since this is gonna be monthly, anyone else willing to come play? I’ma run ssf4 as well if anyone is interested. You can money match, do whatever as long as it obeys the rules of the establishment. Money matches welcome =D This time, 5 dollar entry, playing til 9 or whenever really.
This month the tournament will be held on the 8th. Casuals start at 4, the real tournament etc start at 5. Bring your own stick as always. All games will be played on xbox 360 and The entry fee is 5 dollars, the tournament if one is held will be an additional 5 to 10 dollars depending on the turnout. SSF4 and MvC3 will be ran, you may money match other games if they are there, for instance I have mvc2 on my hard drive. I can bring 3S if someone requests it, but do so soon.
Money matches welcome? How about a marvel 2 mm?
