Thanks for the tip. I’m assuming relaunches cause a LOT of hitstun decay then? I’m just always surprised that F. Champ can, say, hit with Hidden Missiles assist, addf :h:, a bunch of standing :l: s, then launch into the fly combo ( i.e., :m:xxfly :l:).

Hidden Missiles dont affect hitstun decay.

is that possible to swag with magneto on pad? because I’m a pad user…

is there a match-up thread? im having a real hard time with vergil+ironman/doom beam

Yes. Just put time and effort in it and everything a stick user can do, pad players can do as well (with magneto in marvel).

I’m guessing assist call (beam) into teleport is getting to you? Watch the teleport animation, the front and behind teleport should have a distinguishable difference. If you see the the teleport fade lines horizontal then they are teleporting in front of you. If the teleport fade lines are vertical, then they are teleporting behind you.

if you have to block vergil + that high durability beam you’re forced to block that dude for so long it’s hard to come out without taking a hit. ill try to shoot ironman before he comes out but it’s hard because he stands so far behind vergil he’s almost offscreen.

being magneto i take to the fucking sky but the problem is any time i get anywhere near the ground i run into this beam that’s active for 6 years and he gets a free hit confirm no matter where he is on the screen. it’s like he’s anti-airing me with the beam because you just call it and forget it. even when i come down right on top of ironman i end up getting hit by it instead of the other way around.

also just in general i have a real hard time with ironman whenever he’s on point. i can’t touch him from the air at all due to repulsor/spread and the priority\reach of his air attacks makes it hard to approach from the ground.

So I have a couple of Qs to you guys

  • How the vergil matchup/what to do
  • How is the Dante/Doom synergy
  • Wesker matchup.

I cant answer much about the Vergil mu besides keeping him out and only approaching him when you have assists locking him down or behind you because his normals can easily stuff your Solo Tridash pressure, so you have to play like you normally would play someone like Haggar or Hulk and only rush them down when you have your assists behind(Drones/Missiles/Arrows etc).

Wesker MU has become a lot easier in Ultimate due the anti air gunshot hit confirm nerf where he can punish Mangeto’s mobility heavily into a full confirm bnb. If it’s point vs point, and you have a faster assist at the start(unless he has Tatsu), you can simply hold forward and mash stH. In footsies Wesker’s strongest pokes and footsie buttons(dash crL and crM which give a lot of the cast problems) have problems against Magneto’s footsies, how you are supposed to play the MU is abuse addb and addf jH/jS because Wesker’s buttons dont have that great of answers to them at footsie range(other than raw stS), you can use addb jH/jS to space him out and set up your assists and then rush him down with Tridash mixups. You can also cover your assists with Boxdash/Tridash Blasts because he doesnt have that great of answer to those, nor does he have good answers to super jump Magnetic Blasts unless he has strider. Full Screen you just spam L Disruptor + Asissts if he’s grounded, and super jump blasts if he tries super jump gunshots.

Dante and Doom are godlike with Magneto and both provide a ton of useful support for him, Hidden Missiles being arguably his best assist, and him having alot of abusable synergy with Doom other than being one of the best hidden missiles user in the game, Magneto can abuse TACs well, can Raw Tag Dr Doom into a full combo. Jam Session and Hidden Missiles are Magneto’s assists of choice if you are trying to pair him up with either of them with a lot of abusable tech scattered all over these forums.

I hated the point Wesker matchup so much in vanilla. I would always catch him and do 1.07mil and not kill him and then he’d come back and kill me with a level 3 :frowning: .

Dante and Doom are great for Magneto but I’m not a big fan of Magneto/Dante/Doom. I mean it definitely works but I don’t like having two “just good” XF users as slot 2 and anchor. Needs more broken. Then again I play Iron Man and Sentinel :frowning:

Once someone masters Magneto/Doom/Morrigan, I think people will realize it’s like, at least one of the top 5 teams in the game. The only thing that I think squarely beats this team is Dormammu. Morrigan is actually pretty tough to learn though.

One quick question, how do you combo disruptor in the air into tempest?

Hi everybody. I’m looking to add Magneto to my Thor team (probably with Doctor Strange, but not necessarily), and I was wondering if Magneto does better as anchor or in the second position? Considering his penchant for resets, Magneto seems like a terrifying anchor, but as of right now I have no personal experience with using him. So, I come to y’all, the experts.

Any advice would be helpful.

Either or. Magneto is super fast though under XF3 and can be scary if played right. Magneto at the second slot with a helpful assist can be just as scary.

Experiment and find which best works for you.

i think magneto second on his team is great if he’s using bolts of balthakk. plus magneto xf2 with an assist is even scarier than magneto xf3 imo

I’m sure this has been asked/answered before, but is there any character who can effectively deal with Magneto on point? I feel like his neutral game is too strong for most point characters to overcome. Who gives you guys trouble, if anyone?

Zero, Taskmaster, Vergil, and Wolverine can all deal with point Magneto decently.

I have problems with Hulk too but that’s more bc I’m free to st.:h:, though Magneto doesn’t deal with super armor very well. Hulk is allowed plenty of mistakes since he can’t be TOD’ed very easy at all but if Magneto makes one mistake, he’s a goner.
