MvC3: Magneto: Questions (and Answers) Thread

I rock Magneto on anchor and that’s actually the only position I’ve played him. Is learning Mag/Drones essential to truly knowing this character? I’m just wondering if it’ll help my overall play any.

I’ve been practicing my H loops I’m pretty new to the game but mags is my favorite character I watched a few videos on the loop but for some reason I keep mainly getting TACs when I go for flight mode , anything you suggest to practice specifically to get better at it ?
and anything I should start practicing now?

Break the combo into pieces. Practice getting LMHS j.H dash H fly. LH first consistently. Repeat the cr.HS H dash H fly L part until you don’t get TACs anymore. Or at least 90% of the time. And make sure you’re completing the QCB motion before pressing S. You might be pressing too early or missing a direction.

You should run a B team with a point Magneto on it. I don’t think you can fully understand a character’s capabilities without trying him/her out on point.

The bnb I use right now is one rep of mag blast loop in to fly loop. Am I crazy or is it impossible to transition into hyper grav loop from that combo unless it’s done really early? If so, is there any reason to go for the loop since the two combos seem to do similar damage and meter build?

How does this work? I only get a mag blast with that input. If I alter the timing of my button presses I only get a ADDF :/.

HSD. If you cant do it after numerous trial and error playing with speed then most likely its not possible.

I think we have the same MagBlast to flight bnb because I cant get a rep out too if I start out at full screen and corner carry.

Def takes time to get it right but just play with it and eventually itll click for you. If it makes it easier for you, map out a M+H button then try it to get the feel for the timing.

When doing the fly loop to hyper grav, I notice players addf H to end the flight into hyper grav loop. Do you still have to unfly or can you press S after the last H in the rep to land?

If you use addf H, you can press S to land. If not, you need to manually unfly.

Yup, you can use S to buffer a fast unfly provided you didn’t go into fly too low and are unflying very close to the ground.
Take this knowledge, pair it with a lockdown assist and rape kids.

Man I completely forgot about this and I haven’t seen any Pros utilize it either. Its easy as hell too

lets say you call drones assist and the opp starts back jumping. What do you guys do? really stuck on this because i tried methods but nothing seems practical. Thanks.

midscreen you can go IADf OS j:h: magnetic blast :l: to follow up the drones or in the corner when they upback you can go superjump IADf OS j:h: xx magnetic blast:l: into combo.

edit: most people tend to trijump :l: as the drones are coming out and do side switch combo variants. here’s two of em

Can anyone tell me how to combo off dash launch cross up on an incoming opponent.

I usually launch H addb/add/addf H depending on the height

how do you account for the height?

You can also use this for the mixup(since most people react to flight by blocking S).

You need a Fuzzy guard set up first vs most of the cast, but all you have to do is:

Fly from the ground height, jM, unfly fly, jL crL, It’s a completely ambiguous double overhead into low.

dash up to them as they land or when you think they are going to jump an mash cr. L. cr. L will keep them grounded and will hit them if they tried to jump
