First kid i’ve seen with the costume pack, and I ranked him DOWN. I didn’t know that was even possible! yikes.
Did a little testing in training mode. Apparently, Morrigan, Amaterasu, and Phoenix have the shortest crouch stances, and in that order from shortest to tallest.
Morrigan is the only character who can duck under Shield Slash M and not get hit except for a very small minority of frames during her crouch stance; Ammy gets hit on most of hers in comparison. Morrigan and Ammy are the only two characters who can duck under some projectiles/beams, with Phoenix being the only other character who can duck under slightly higher ones.

Yeaaaaah. I’ve gotten ranked down during a massive losing streak. Lame? Very yes. Oddly, I sorta feel bad about ranking other people down (done it a couple times)… but rather love keeping people from ranking up. /shrug

Indeed. I think I stuffed a 21 win streak the other day. I felt like a boss.
Or stuffing anything that should be a threat.
I stuffed a Phoenix+Lv.3 Dark Phoenix with half a life bar on Viper and no assists earlier. Not gonna lie, it was a confidence boost. Lv. 3 Dark Phoenix scares the crap out of me… but I still came out with the win.
Confidence makes all the difference in the world for my performance.
For that matter you gotta love surviving a lvl3 Sent and feeling like you did a public service. Let’s be real, people are trying to find the easy way out and you gotta love punishing them on levels both technical and meta-ethical.

On that note, someone needs to draft up Flowchart Sent if it hasn’t happened already.
Phoenix having a tiny crouching stance is news to me. Morrigan and Ammy don’t surprise me though since Morgz had a tiny ducking stance in tvc as well and Ammy is a small canine. Good news for me since I play all three of these characters. =)
Man, dark phoenix is such a terror to face. The only strat i use against her is to snap her in asap.
Something like ‘NEUTRALIZE -> NEUTRALIZE. Did it work? Yes: NEUTRALIZE -> NEUTRALIZE. No: NEUTRALIZE -> NEUTRALIZE. Did it work this time? Yes: Random full screen HSF! No: Random full screen HSF!’
If they’re somewhat decent, throw in random cr.m, launcher and frying pan in there somewhere.

LOL 100x this! Surviving and beating a level 3 Sentinel is a sweet feeling… glad I’ve learned some counters after running into them consistently.

for some reason, 99% of phoenix players ALWAYS press a button after they transform into dark phoenix…
i kill them as phoenix on the ground, block the “burst” from dark phoenix transformation, XFC as soon as i confirm the block, and i do a fast level 3 (dante/trish/zero) and it hasn’t failed so far…
thats cool. u CAN beat out trons assist by hitting her before it comes out. i all that it was invincible until it was done…
So did anybody try the new Shadow mode yet?
Yes, ludicrously easy… but it seems bugged to me. The AI would occasionally just, stop doing anything.
I did not know that Chris’s loading grenade hyper combo can go through Shinku hadouken lol.
