Can’t check for myself right now, does charging star go through sent spit? That’d be godlike all Sents right now are playing the spit into flight mode game would be so good for closing the gap.

I’ve been wondering about if charging star can handle up to some projectiles. How does it handle beams like “Unibeam” or Deadpool’s guns?

Just got home was able to watch Vegit’s video. Amazing stuff! Hyper Charging Star so good!

Trying to break down how it works. Looks like it will go through 2-3 projectiles then he gets hit? Looks like as soon as he hits his opponent though he is completely invulnerable? Anyone got anything concrete?

It will break supers (depending on a couple things) from midscreen. It goes through taskmaster super and occasionally trades but mostly beats like weskers. Morrigan super missile DESTROYS cap hcs though.

Here’s a nice bit of info - cap can cancel cartwheel into hyper. Good for people like tasky trying to super your cartwheel on reaction.

Vs supers like wesker its better to hyper stars and stripes.

really really dope information. I’m curious how good or bad Taskmasters charging star is now.

I’m still working on my shield loop. my timing is all off and sometimes my thumb presses S because I’m used to the magic series being a certain layout (using the default button mapping on my MvC2 TE)

I don’t know why you thought the missle super beats HCS…

Can you cancel the cartwheel into anything else (normals, specials?), or just supers?

EDIT: i said it because it does - if she does that at half screen away and you try to go through it you’re gonna get a face full of missiles - unlike if you do that with taskmaster etc - it has too many hits and it doesn’t go through the missiles. if you run into one you run into like 15 and it wont break through

I don’t think it goes by number of projectiles, just how far the move goes and how long it lasts.

I may be wrong, but thats what it seems like from my experience.

i was thinking the same thing, but morrigans super always hits me through it even at the early parts if enough missiles hit - which is pretty simple to have happen because they all come out at like exactly the same time LOL

but the odd thing is that if you’re midscreen it goes through tasks super, deadpools super, chri’s super (other than the first hit) and many others.

i dunno it’s weird i’ll have to hit the lab later - i dont actually have the game yet i just pleyd captain for about 9 hours LOL

A lot of projectiles in this game have special properties where they can clash and keep going through other projectiles up to a certain amount. I saw it mentioned in the guide that I haven’t had a chance to pick up yet. Basically it’s conceivable his shield move acts like a projectile and absorbs a certain number of hits from other projectiles before being beaten

That sounds exactly right from my experiences.

I forgot to mention earlier - once when I was playing against Dorm he used his level 3 (travels accross the ground to hit you) and i responded by doing my hyper charging star. I went through it and didn’t get hit - but I also didn’t hit him. It aws really bizare looking as he was right next to me on activation of both hyper combos like we were both invincible and it was just a wash or something lol

I think one interesting thing with cap is that after a throw you can follow a back roll and regrab/mixup with an assist really easily. Landing that throw really helped generate some offense while I was playing.

Just something worth noting.

Hyper Stars & Stripes -> invincible from frames 1-24
Hyper charging star -> destroys projectiles/ignores beams from frames 1-23.
Final Justice -> invincible from frames 16-36
(Not a typo)

What about regular Charging star? any destroy/ignore beam/projectile frames?

Final doubts

Cap has some OTG move? Maybe that shield slash on the ground?
His “dive kick” makes him fall fast? In diagonal?

Nothing otg without assist and I can’t find any dive kick or anything that looks even remotely like what wesaw in that one video

cap needs an OTG move. oh well. i was upset that they removed his double jump but i like the shield stuff he can do…so he’s still fun to play as.
