I understand your point, but Doom kinda transcends the Fantastic Four. Certainly much more than Magneto does with the Xmen. The thing about the Fantastic Four is that you’ve really got to have all four or none at all. Still though I wouldn’t be surprised if practically every big Marvel Character to appear in a movie in the last decade makes it.

That is true I suppose. Luke Cage has fought Doom, Doom was the main villain of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, hell, I think even Punisher had a tiff with Doom for some reason or another. Still, though, from the beginning he’s always been a Fantastic Four villain. I wouldn’t want to blow 4 character spots just on the FF anyways, personally, I find them boring. It just felt strange, haha.
Oh yea, I second Kingpin. That guy is jacked, and if you have Punisher as well, bam. Villain for Spidey and Punisher at the same time.
if that’s the case, I’d say put in Buckwild Mercenary Man aka Cage but that character was sold to DC/Milestone comics aka “static shock” all ethnic superheros and villains company.
Other than that, people keep bringing up how SF4 is and how that came to be but the main thing you guys are forgetting about is that major element to this game…

If Ono is really involved in the production of the game then wie must expect TvC1.5 with Marvel characters. Also, MvC2 was not that popular in Japan… So if Seth is behind all of this then there’s a big chance that this game will be catered to westerners and the rosters will be stellar.

The Punisher should be the only character in the game with actual fatalities.
I honestly don’t care about japan anymore those guys never evolve anyway so better that the game is catered to us than them.
Ill agree, alotta TvC hating in here but SF4, 3S and ST have been mentioned in this thread as well…and i dont recall seeing any of that hate on those games…hmmmm. I wonder how many people are gonna boo hoo when MvC3 isnt MvC2…
While being a crappy movie, Elektra would be a pretty awesome MvC3 character. Ghost Rider…maybe. It would all depend on how they went about building him.
Haha, thats awesome. But just to balance it out and have a bad guy in there too, Im going to say Punisher and Carnage are the only 2 characters to be allowed fatalities lol. But just make them not really fatalities (I hate MK), but like Raging Demon.
Ghost Rider … and pretty much any Marvel Character for that matter can be as OP as you want to make them. Take Sabertooth as an example (yes I know he wasn’t ever that great). Conventional wisdom says he should just fight with his hands and feet, but Capcom saw fit to let him summon BIRDIE (yes boss?) out of nowhere. If you look at every character with that kind of potential to do shit, then I wouldn’t be worried. Between Ghost Rider’s chain, bike, and the FLAMING SKULL HE’S GOT FOR A HEAD (penance stare) they can go all out. Hell if you make her fireworks gimicky enough even Jubilee can be fashioned into a broken character.
Actually, it’s more likely that it’ll be Niitsuma behind any new VS game.

Same goes for Phoenix of course… Seriously there are so many Marvel characters that would be awesome to have in a game like this… I’m so pissed I have to wait to get this announcement. Hopefully it’s more than an announcement. Maybe even an early screen shot or at least some artwork. SOMETHING.

very very true. Ghost Rider has always been a cool character in my book, I guess I just never thought about the possibilities of him in a VS atmosphere. But dont go knocking on Jubez now, sheis on my ‘want’ list for MvC3 haha.

I ain’t hating, just telling it like I see it. TvC is a good, solid game but it’s a completely different series of Vs play like CvS is. The game just isn’t generating as much interest as it could be, whether it’s just because it’s on Wii or it’s because the gameplay isn’t exciting, I don’t know. Either way the community is small and dedicated but it’s not as hyped up and interesting as Marvel’s scene is. If MvC3 doesn’t act, taste, play, and rape newbs like Marvel should, it won’t be the same series.
Of course, all this is a moot point considering we have no actual information to go on.
EDIT: Yea, I don’t get it either, I just googled Luke Cage and there’s no mention of the character being sold to any company.
