MVC2 can never be remade on purpose, Its a anomaly in itself. Thing thing about mvc2 is its a really fun game and simple at its core, the characters are cool and everyone knows ryu and wolverine. It pulled comic book fans and fighter fans together, as well as random cats who just like marvel or street fighter.Its just as fun to watch as it is to play, There is no other fighter where i can literally grab popcorn kick back with a drink and watch and be entertained the whole ride through.
Mvc2 took almost a decade of playing and went through things that would kill other fighters. MVC2 started in a age when the net didn’t destroy everything with video’s and people forcing there opinion on others. ( people still don’t realize how subconscious there opinions are effected by the masses.) You saw new hot stuff when you went to a tournament or if you had connect’s coast to coast.
It was a time when Iceman and cammy where on every team, sent was almost unstoppable, then cable learn he could AHVBx3 sent , next mags speed up, then storm speed up, then sent learned unfly, so cable started guard breaking which gave mags and storm the same ideal, then mags and storm speed up even more. storm realized she could almost kill sent in one bar, mags then showed her how to really lock sent down, while cable was content with jumping back calling assist. Sent then learned that he could had a unblockable so he started kill msp.
The reason reason marvel is so great is because the crowd keep it hype and they didn’t give up, If you complained about the IM infi or ROM you got hit with it every match until you maned up or quit the game. You could try to go online and complain but you’d get laughed off whatever site you were on, same thing IRL. That i think is the main reason mvc2 continued to get better with time, people didn’t abandon ship every time some that most would consider playable broken now a days was found. Also people didn’t look to japan for info or to find out “how a character should be played” they played the character they played it and enjoyed it or mad it work the best they could, Or they “picked a top tier”…to top if off all of the top tier teams are fun to play.
Today you can go to any character forum for SF4 on srk and find post after post on why something needs to be changed or nerfed. Are someone complaining about balance, not only scrubs but actual good/decent players too… little do they know that they just fuel the fire to the downfall of the evolution of that said fighter.
Mvc2 was a mistake, the funny thing is they tried to balance out a few things and just missed or quit half way through. Even with TVC while its super fun…Its also pretty balanced. Which kinda turns people off when it comes to a vs game… (why is this only on the wii…?)
Pro-Tip: Quoting yourself makes you look like a douche. If no one answered in the first place there’s probably a good reason.
On topic: Do you expect to see one of the SF4 or Super characters popping up in the cast? I would expect it at this point…

Also I’d expect them to put in Juri, since reception with her seems to be pretty positive overall. I dunno how an SF4 character would play in a VS game though.

MvC2 looks horrible.
I don’t want to turn this into a list of ‘Who I want in MVC3’ since we all have our own desires, but it will be interesting to see how they go about choosing characters. I’m guessing they’ll include most/all of the cast from TVC (unless my logic in thinking they can re-use models/move sets for the most part is off). After that, I wonder if they will stick to mostly fighting game characters or go for some more obscure or unrelated characters like TVC had.
For the Marvel side, obviously they would have the main Avengers team and anyone who had a big movie recently, but it would be nice if they included some more down to earth characters from that side as well. Punisher in his modern Trench-coat and Skull shirt would be cool for example, rather than he’s more ‘Superheroey’ old fashioned costume. I’m trying to think of more realistic comic characters, but all I can think of is DC Vertigo stuff… Foolkiller maybe? I don’t know anything about him though.

Honestly I think either Juri or Fuerte could fit in a VS environment. You can tweak anyone from SF4 into the TvC engine (or whatever engine they end up using), Ryu and Chun work fine in TvC after all.
Note that the rom was in x-men vs. street fighter, and was not removed.
But it’s fun to argue and Capcom has stated that the community has affected a game roster before like SSF4.
That makes me wonder if this leak was done on purpose (or almost) to get some feedback as far as rosters go… Although I’m sure that in the 10+ years MvC2 has been around they’ve got plenty of information already.

On that note, does anyone know if that sort of thing influenced TVC? They had some really cool and unusual choices for that game (Seeing Alex was particularly nice, Frank West was even better) but it doesn’t seem like they were put there by fan demand.
Then probably MVC2 was badly developed, such a large character roster made it a lot tougher also.
I mean I LIKE MVC2 i just dont like how unbalanced the game is at highger levels, sentinel sucks but it’s still an S-Tier.
I’d like to play anakaris because he looks so bad-ass but I couldn’t if I wanted to compete.

MVC3 needs some Killer 7 characters on the Capcom side.The characters in that game oozed style,it would be a shame if we never saw them again.
