Mission 8: WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS

Is there some sort of trick to this? Like, I’ve done 9 and 10, gone through everything, but for whatever reason Magneto’s Hyper Grav either goes through Wesker or doesn’t feel like holding Wesker for more than a fucking nanosecond and the super doesn’t connect!

To even get to this point reliably, I had to map assist 2 to a turbo button on my fightstick.

what i did was i hit the ground, called in Magneto while pressing down and finishing the slicer move with M. So he comes out while X23 charges and when it hits, hyper grav connects. If you played SF4, I ‘plinked’ the assist and M buttons.

It seems every time I 2-in-1 or roll cancel the Magneto assist, I get a snapback. If I can get a video, I’ll post it, because I’m literally holding the turbo button for the assist to come out the frame I hit the ground (which sometimes never happens) and then cancelling into the ankle sweep. Is it possible to do this too fast?

Okay, just finished it. The problem was twofold:

  1. I wasn’t holding :m: long enough for the ankle slicer to come out properly (sometimes).
  2. Hyper Gravitation is fucking terrible.

Do it in the corner.

First of all I’ve got great news about her Weapon X Prime hyper. It’s totally invincible after start up! Not even invincible level 3 hypers can touch you after the close up animation. She runs strait through Ryu’s laser hyper, Storm’s Ice storm (you’ll always have time to react to this and hit her; so you’ve nothing to fear from Storm, even if she DHC’s into someone else you’ll always have priorioty), Magneto’s gravity screen, and at worst she passes through anyone doing a hyper that also has invincibility (she owns Dante’s level 3 no matter what). Of course it has a slow start up, but once it does, you can’t be harmed (unless someone’s blocking and waiting to punish afterward).

This does 390.300 to 398.300 damage and 21 to 23 hits depending on how careful your execution is. It took me three hours to be able to pull it off just right consistantly because there are so many timing tricks. I call it my CLONED MASTERPIECE COMBO (so corny) because it’s a variation of her mission 10 combo. It builds over one meter; so it’s perfect for doing high damage while saving and earning meter.

:lp:,:mp:,:hp:,:qcb::hp:,:mp:,:mp:,:hp:,:uf:,:mp:,:mp:,:hp:,:qcf::lp:,:lp:,:mp:,:hp:,:s:,:u:,:lp:,:mp:,:hp:,:qcf::lp:,:qcf::mp:full charge.

The timing on this will kill you. Here are my tips:
After the first talon attack wait until they fall as close to the ground as possible to start the ground combo. Delay attacking after the launcher as long as you can. If you don’t, then the final talon attack will fail. Most importantly, press the buttons as fast as the game will accept them, or your opponent will fall away from you, especially after the launcher.

This is the best no assist, no hyper, no xfactor combo I’ve come up with. So when you don’t have resources remember you’re still lethal.

Thx leed, for something cool to work on! Learning tricky timing stuff is fantastic practice for execution. Time for me to pick up a new set of claws!

Nice, right across the screen! And then hyper and/or XFC during the last hit?.. OR try and find an assist that lets you do more meterless juggles after the ankle slicer? Although I bet hitstun has decayed pretty far by that point.

Yeah, I did that earlier today with Dorm Pillar assist for the OTG instead of ankle slicer and when i tried to combo after it they fell out of the combo… its very good for a meterless combo though and for now can be settled as her BnB

For some reason I cant get the S to land after the first qcb.H. I can get MMH just fine though. I have tried timing it different, but no dice. Could you by chance mean MMH instead?

Also, after the first qcf. L, after I land I can never get the H, S off before they fall out of hitstun. Any tips?

Ugh I must suck at this game. I can’t get her ankle slicer to consistently OTG after a knockdown. Even just practicing something simple like magic series, launcher, magic series into neutral S for knockdown, ankle slicer never OTGs. Anybody got tips on the timing?

You can just full charge the ankle slicer most of the time. Just learn the timing on a full charge and release a moment before it would auto release.

How do you guys get in with x23? atm i’m just using gimmicks and sentinel assist to get in and get some combo’s but i feel like when more people learn the match up those won’t work.

also does anyone know any decent block strings with x23?

Learn to wavedash. Hers is stupid fast, and can get you in on even small openings. Also, there’s nothing wrong with using assists to cover your approach … that’s a pretty standard tactic.

cLMH xx QCB+H MMH

cLMH forces low block, canceling into QCB+H gives you an overhead setup and lets you combo into anything.

Once I learned to wave dash properly, its been pretty easy to get in and FAST. Only 3 wave dashes full screen and your right in their face in about a second.

Make sure you’re charging ankle slicer fully, you should have plenty of time after a knock down.
