MvC3: Claws and a Bra. X-23 Thread

Some revised presentation if you wanna use it. In the format of those make-believe movelists I used to do:

Costumes!

Special Moves:

Beast Hops: :qcb:+…

[*]:h:: High hop, great for surprise overheads and key to her aerial loop.

  • All hops can be charged to mix up timing.

]:m:: Ankle Slicer, low version of Neck Slicer (OTGs).
[*]:h:: Decapitation Slicer, unblockable throw with combo opportunity.

  • All Slicers can be charged to mix up timing.

Crescent Scythe: :dp:+:atk: (Air-OK)

  • Anti-air flip-kick.

Talon Dive: :d:+:atk:

  • vertical dive attack that overheads. Talon Attacks can be canceled into this.

Talon Attacks: :qcf:+… (Air Only)

]:m:: Horizontal direction, could stand in for aerial mobility.

Hyper Combos:

Rage Trigger: :qcf:+:atk::atk:

  • Forward moving series of three multihit attacks.

Weapon X Prime: :dp:+:atk::atk:

  • X23 makes you her bitch for a few seconds before leaving her mark.

Dirt Nap: :qcb:+:atk::atk: (Level 3)

  • X23 goes out of sight. :s: will initiate a powerful grab to finish the move.

2 corrections:
The :h: hop is the high hop used in the aerial loop, not the :m: one. And her lv3 is called “Dirt Nap”.

For those of you who played the game, would you say she builds meter really quickly? I feel like she would, she seems like a good battery character.

she seems to be a great meter battery character. She’s weak though:/ but once she gets on offense, she’s in dat ass.

Sorry, I’m not familiar with the nuances of the VS Series’ engine yet, I’m new to the game. Does true wavedashing exist in MvC3?

Some more information on X’s divekick. The TK motion seems to be Half circle Up+Attack. It’s comboable out of, just like in the air. The M version hops projectiles and beams with the right timing, and TK’d H is basically a post-pubescent Psimitar that leads into an air combo.

M version does not look safe on block unless it hits late.

what that vid showed is not washdashes, just random dashing back and forth like a moron.

also, as far as i can tell there is wavedashing, just not as fast or useful as MvC2.

just because x-23 wasn’t dashing forward consecutively in that video doesn’t mean it wasn’t operating on the same principle.

Nobody seems to be picking X23. For the most part people are avoiding execution heavy characters like X23 and Wesker. Ironic considering the complaints.

oh well X-23 isn’t a good day 1 char. too much going on with her.

people will need some time to work her out, or decide if she is even worth playing… she probably is but the lack of good overhead options kinda sucks. using viper burn kick assist might be a requirement, otherwise x-23 could have problems opening people up

Lack of overhead options? She has talon attack and you don’t even to do silly actions like Cammy’s TK dive kick - it’s free.

In fact a lot of things are free but people seem to be mentally blocked from it. It’s strange watching these streams.

that is not an overhead.
nothing she can do from the air except regular jump attacks are overheads.

if you x-factor it changes the property of her feints, her short hop gets much lower and faster. that would probably give her some more stuff but i didn’t have time to investigate.

Yeah, I thought her talon dive hit overhead. Haven’t played but looks like it will. Can’t wait for somebody to master her cancellable hops and post a video of them cancelling recovery frames.

Yep, it does, and you can get it out very quick, then combo 236 :l: after it. I’d consider it a pretty good OH option IMO.

Her overhead game is really good, are you forgetting about :h: Hop? It lets her do jumping normals so close to the ground. :l: Hop you can’t cross up with, :m: hop crosses up, :h: Hop puts you in the air for overhead mix ups.
