Oh no I actually meant in an actual match, but thanks for posting that vid, I had forgotten just how many options she actually had since you never see her in any tourney matches. Good lord can you imagine the mix-up she is capable of with a good assist? Oh lordy lord shes looking good.

This. Once people realize what she’s capable of, she’ll become that new MvC3 hotness. I’m just glad I’ll be jumping in with her Day 1.

I think anyone who plans on using X-23 needs to pair her with a lockdown assist to really maximize her potential. Ammy’s Cold Star, Doom Rocks (despite getting nerfed) or Lightning Legs are all good choices. Are there any other good lockdown assists you guys can think of? What else would she need to supplement her game? A good AAA?

I don’t think she will need a good AA since she will always be on offense it seems, maybe a projectile assist to cover her approach and a lockdown assist to allow her to start her offense. Plus you could probably pair her up with an overhead or low assist to set up some unblockables as well. So im thinking ill be running with one of sentinel force, dormammus dark portal, cold star, molecular shield, lightning legs, for lock down and some projectile assist for cover.

I just checked the Amaterasu board, her Cold Star assist was nerfed from the SDCC build onward. I kind of want the most broken lockdown assist for my team, so Lighning Legs it is, at least until I figure out something better.

I personally think a good AAA will be invaluable for her. You can’t always be on the offensve, there will be times where the tables will turn on you and suddenly you’ll be forced to block Magneto’s tri-jumps or Wesker’s teleport mixups. I’m going to be a pairing her with Hulk’s anti-air Gamma Charge. It’s probably one of the best AAAs in the game because it has super armour and it hits on the way up. But there’s still the issue of approach, and I agree with you, a good beam assist will go a long way. Fuck, choosing character configurations is so difficult, but so fun lol.

Oh yea ammy’s assist got nerfed a long time ago, but its still pretty good. Before she fired ice shots straight, now she comes out jumps up and shoots down at an angle [media=youtube]rvACIb3_bf4&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL[/media] at 0:25. Its still pretty good, plus it can double as a projectile assist(although it won’t be as good as a proper projectile) to cover her approach. Yea you make a good point about defense but I think she has a dragon punch type move does she not? So that can protect you from tri-jumping magnetos. Plus I hear sentinel force is still pretty good and it also covers your approach while kinda locking your opponent down.

But she herself is pretty darn mobile so for all we know she might not need an assist to cover her and will simply get in on her own.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen her dragon punch in action, what’s it like? Does it have invincible start up? If it’s good, then I can swap out AA Gamma Charge with Gamma Wave; it has projectile nullifying properties and goes fullscreen. And the only reason I’m not jumping all over Sentinel is because I don’t want to have two giants on my team, but I think he would be fantastic for everyone else. LI Joe said that we should expect to see him on every team.

lol I don’t think sents gonna end up on every team like before, its just very early and he is one of the few characters that anyone who plays the game is comfortable with, im sure as time goes by and people get more comfortable with other characters we will slowly see his usage reduce. Thats not to say I think he will be bad in this just not nearly as good or popular. As for her dragon punch i will admit i know nothing about it, i have no idea how much invincibility it has or any of its properties. But I would like to assume that its decent at the very least.

I guess we’ll find out in a week’s time.

I know it’s off topic, but do you or anyone else from the Ottawa community plan on coming to Toronto for T-12? It should be the biggest Canadian MvC3 tournament of the year.

The same can probably be said of every character in the game not named Magneto, Storm, Deadpool, Dante, or Sentinel. Or Chun-Li.

Dante’s Crystal (and maybe Jam Session, which’d pull double duty as lock and AAA), Arthur Fire Bottle, Sent A or C Drones, Hsien-Ko Pendulum and Gong, Skrull AAA Tenderizer to prevent jumping out, possibly Wolverine Berserker Barrage and Felicia’s Rolling Buckler (now with added unblockable setups!) seem like other good lockdown ideas.

She seems mobile enough and her no charge Hooligan Throw seems fast enough to escape/stop pressure, but an AAA wouldn’t hurt. Her Cannon Spike seems fast, but I don’t know if it’s got invincible startup.

Just for clarification, cold star is still just as good as it ever was. I play ammy, I’ve played ammy.

The fact that people think the only lockdown assists in the game are doomrocks, chunlegs and cold star show just how little the games been tapped into.

Thanks for the insight and the suggestions guys, I’ll take everything you said into consideration! My understanding of the game is pitiful at this point, which is excusable I guess.

She can combo into Dirt Nap (not the actual activation, but while invisible, combo INTO the grab).

That’s…interesting. You mean that you can perform regular attacks while invisible and remain so? I think I recall seeing that in a video somewhere, but wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking at.

Do we know how long the invisibility lasts and/or what will cause it to disappear? Is it purely time-based?

Yeah, like while invisible, say a ABC chain (obviously impossible to tell…you know, being invisible and all) and then hitting E, going into the grab, and it all combos, not a reset.

Not sure on duration though, I’m too lazy to look out for that stuff.

What do you guys think of this team?

X/IM/Doom

X-23- low assist (ankle slicer)
Iron-Man-Projectile (unibeam i believe) or his AA assist Repulsor Blaster (its decent)
Doom- Rocks

I think the only thing that hurts her is the lack of a sure way to apply pressure to get in besides on her own since Doom’s Rocks were nerfed, it at least gives you a chance tho, a small window is better than none, and to get past projectiles IM’s beam seems good enough.

DHC’ing from a long hop combo from either Rage Trigger or Weapon X Prime into IM’s Proton Cannon into Dooms Photon Array for a CKC or atleast almost a CKC seems like good damage to me.

I chose this team because if X dies IM and Doom seem they can still virtually hold their own against the majority of the cast, but idk, experimenting is everything. This is all in theory. This team overall just seems like it could be balanced, nothing over the top tho.
