I think it’s to do with the # of hits. So the weaker hits scale the combo down just as much but for less damage. That’s why many prefer :d::h: is a better option than st.:h: in big combos. It affects HSD in the same way I believe.
I can’t say for sure on felix but I know on x23 her diff. attacks affect HSD by varying amounts. Even in vanilla if you did her MFC s.H chains you could only do 5 before you had to launch where you could do nonsense ~15 hit ground chains then launch. In ult. you can still do 5 s.H before you have to launch or an ~10 ground chain mixing it up before launching. It seems to me that capcom has some ratio of combo usefulness to advantage on hit and made those attacks scale faster so they wouldn’t be abused. Though I’m sure there’s some base scaling based on the number of hits as well which is why L’s are so HSD heavy.
Using PHM as a raw starter does NOT scale damage or affect HSD in combos.
Only if used very early in a combo. It isn’t a practical method to combo into super anymore, sadly.

Does the s.:l: > s. > s.:h:(3) xx :l: Cat Spike, s.:l: > s. work? I cannot get the last s. to connect to extend combos using Cat Spike. Angerrr.
Sub st.:h: with :h:. Arrow Kick is a better move on the ground because it does more hitstun and doesn’t scale as hard as st.:h: does.
Just did this combo. No matter what I do or double check your notation, I can only get 674,000 DMG. Even mashing Dancing Flash with Turbo. How are you getting 700k?
Old post, I know, but I read this and tried it out for myself. A bit strenuous, really. I modified it and started either adding a :db: before QCF or doing a half circle. Depends on how much I’m [S]mashing[/S] [S]rushing[/S] [S]imprecise[/S] tired. Works wonders, don’t need to make my stick cry, and no more Kitty Helper.

By doing the combo >.> Not sure how you’re getting 25k less damage. How are you mashing Dancing Flash? I mash it by hitting L+M+H at the same time (most consistent way to get dmg off of it in my exp, though doesn’t work with others. Weird)
The combo works with b+H (in regards to your other post). You’re more than likely watching to see if you correctly link the s.:l: after the L Cat Spike. Trust that you’ll land the link and continue the combo, otherwise you’re waiting too long between L and M inputs.
Who do you do the combo on? Someone told me that Dr. Strange takes in more damage for some reason. And I’m mashing with turbo to make sure I’m maximizing damage.

I think there’s too much HSD in this combo, but just to be certain swap j. > j. > j.:h: > j.:s: for j.:l: > j. > j.:h: > j.:s:. I haven’t tried the combo, but sometimes the enemy is popped a little too high for the first option. Even if you could land the j. Magic Series, you couldn’t do a launcher > another Magic series because there’s too much HSD. If it did work, you could only use a strictly timed j.:h: > j.:s: xx :h: Sand Splash xx Dancing Flash.

Just a quick note. With Felicia as anchor you can end a combo with this to kill a high health character without wasting too much X-Factor time:

Icege, I notice in the frank thread that you said you had a good Frank level up combo off of felicia. Was that just TAC or do you know some specific tech for the two of them? I’ve been in the lab trying to find non TAC options since I’m not a huge fan of the gamble.
So is there a video anywhere that shows most of Felicia’s combos? Or a thread or post somewhere?
