MvC3 Balance Tweaks Take 2: X Factor Harder

Uh, of mechanics not everyone can use? The classic examples are command throws and projectiles.

In any case, the DHC glitch is dumb and should be removed.

I meant in terms of glitches that became true mechanics. Command throws and Projectiles are not these things.

Well, that’s not what I said, and the point stands regardless.

this thread is like a prison mess hall thats runnin low on fruit cups.
Just a fight waiting to happen.

Yo Maaarrrrrrrrvvvveeellll!

Agree with everything except the walk speed and the OTG. I get that it’s hard to catch people running away from him, but that goes with his design. With his air throw, He can already combo into Body Press or use an OTG assist to do a combo. Everything else though is good.

Well, thats not what I asked for, and I’m still waiting for a valid answer.

DHC glitch can stay if it only resets hitstun scaling and not damage scaling.

I have a question in that regard:

Why is hitstun reset better than damage reset? I’ve been hearing a lot of people say that, so I’m sincerely curious.

So you can build more meter to level 3? I don’t know.

Strictly speaking, it is what you asked for, since you asked me for examples, and that’s what I was talking about. More importantly, the burden of proof is on you to show that not everyone being able to do it is even a relevant quality. So, you need to either provide proof that every character being able to do it is an important quality of mechanics in general, which is impossible since we’ve already proven the opposite, or, show that glitches that become mechanics should be treated differently.

And, since you asked, I feel like it’s important that while I’m pretty sure everyone can kara-cancel in SF2 and SF3, the way that it works in the SF4 engine means that it does literally nothing for most of the cast, which is functionally indistinguishable from not having it. So, the designers took something that is a glitch that everyone can do, and removed it from some characters.

Practically speaking, it’s just a damage nerf from what we have now. I don’t think anyone would even bother, since it’s probably more useful just to do a regular DHC at that point.

edit: oh, except HSF, which would become insanely good to DHC into compared to every other hyper in the game.

X-Factor fix… all modes of X-factor only last 10 seconds and damage bonuses are toned down to only be about what X-factor level 1~2 is now
IE x-factor level 3 would be like XF level 1.5 and level 2 would be like XF level 1.3

to give some characters a fighting chance against phoenix, make her tracking fireballs not stop her decent and dissapear if she gets hit. big nerf but she has so many other options for keeping away, giving up one seems like an ok option

DHC Glitch needs to go.
Damage in this game can get toned down some, I might want to run some stuff in training mode to see what “Lowest” damage would be like in this game.

Wesker needs a minor Health nerf (Tie him with Wolverine health wise)
Give Sentinel his health back… atleast 1.1 mil to make his assist viable
Zero… I’d want to say lower his priority but that would mean raising his health at the same point. I could not Imagine Zero with 1.0 mill health. It’d be like Wesker and Dante put together

Dante… please DON’T nerf him Capcom Keep the reward of characters like him and C.Viper.

Give this game Spectator Mode and Better Netcode… enough said

lolol

Nerfing damage for the whole game all-around is just a bad idea. Some characters (Wesker, maybe) may do too much damage, but characters like Haggar, Thor, and Akuma *need *to be able to kill a character quickly.

sentinel assist is still viable and obviously one of the best in the game. you just can’t be like “herp derp assist me!” anymore. you’ll actually have to know how to protect your assists now.

hahaha i look in here and find my favorite f-n person, cillranch, being an a-hole like normal XD

balance…uhm…i dont even care…maybe wolvs dive kick…damn thing

Yeah nobody else in the game can convert an air hit of a dive kick into full combos but Wolvie and X23. The difference is X23 has to connect her dive kick (well she technically has 2 dive kicks) from a really specific height/angle to juggle in the air from it. Whereas Wolvie can just go feet ablazing and get combos as long as he physically comes in contact with you in any way.

Wow why are you getting so heated? Calm down. No need for Internet Tough Guy-ism.

Anyway, without said glitches that became mechanics, fighting games as we know them probably wouldn’t exist. We wouldn’t have a scientific approach to fighting games we have now, things that are vital to the continuation of our preferred genre and community. Things would be much different today than if we didn’t have those glitches. That warrants glitches that became mechanics a higher pedestal than most.

The current issue is if the DHC glitch should be removed in its entirety or not. For some the answer is yes, for others the answer is no. I am one of those who believes the glitch should be removed. However, people were remarking that the game was shaping up to not have such a rigid tiering system as in the past, and I am a proponent of that concept. The DHC glitch is preventing a lot of character development and I feel is stunting the growth of the metagame. Everyone having participation in the DHC glitch without needing X factor will fix those issues, and continue to develop the game as will the metagame.

Or they could just take it out entirely and get the same effect, it just depends what Capcom feels like doing.

edit: Ohai Stitch.

DHC glitch should stay or they should buff the damage of some of the weaker chars like Jill. Other wise some characters will just be too good(sup Dante/Zero/Task) and some will become flat out useless.

I lold

I could deal with this. I just like long combos, who care about dealing damage… that only gets you wins.
Plus theres always resets
As a storm player Id have to say that I have a normal DHCs thats are more powerful than some of my DHC reset glitch combos.
Really just Storm DHC Skrull.
But im sure if I played more chars I would be aware of more.

Uh, whatever you say, chief.

Care to qualify that claim? I feel like the only thing it’s really done to the metagame is make people play Storm a bit more.
