MvC3 Balance Tweaks Take 2: X Factor Harder

You can lower Wesker’s health a little bit but his damage is fine, he really doesn’t hit that hard to be honest.
He’s a character based off average damage combos that lead into powerful resets and mixups, but in most situations he has a hard time just hitting 600k.

You don’t gain anything from it. It only works because you’re so low to the ground the bounce animation happens but there isn’t enough time for the switch so the character stays out. If you time it wrong you can sometimes tag. Also it’s always counterable.

It would have to be survivability for one of them. Without x-factor regen and chip negation, Dark Phoenix gets owned by chip.

The bold part is you admitting that the function is not working as intended, and therefore this is a glitch.

The only changes this game needs:

  1. **X-Factor ends after you kill a character. **All three versions of it. The boosts on it don’t need to be nerfed or anything. I like the extra decisions that XF adds to the game; it just shouldn’t allow a single character to wipe out a team of three so easily. It also means that the difference in effectiveness between level 1 and level 3 XF isn’t so drastic.

  2. **Small changes to the DHC Trick. **It doesn’t need to be eliminated entirely. Just make it so that the post-DHC trick combo (the one that is unscaled) gains you no meter. You can still do huge damage; you just can’t build all the meter you need for it in the middle of the combo.

  3. **Small buffs to lower-tiered characters. **Nobody really needs to be nerfed; not even Phoenix, if XF is modified as proposed in 1). I would give Ryu and Morrigan super armour on their uppercut assists; Not full invincibility, just like one hit of armour. Ryu could possibly also reasonably get his donkey kick from TVC. Small damage buffs should go to Hsien-ko and Joe, and perhaps to Captain A. A really neat idea would be to give somebody like Captain America the ability to start the DHC trick.

That wouldn’t affect the characters who really are “overpowered” with the glitch, such as Dante, Ammy, and Wolverine. None of their DHC Trick-enders allow you to build meter throughout the remaining combo. With the exception of Wesker and Sentinel, being able to build meter during the combo doesn’t really make anyone broken.

Its a glitch, not a trick. Either everyone should be able to do it, or no one should be able to do it. I’m all for glitches becoming true gameplay mechanics, but only if all characters are capable of it across the board.

Even if that were the case, it wouldn’t be practical. As I said, the issue with DHC Tricking is that it makes some characters who otherwise aren’t viable moreso (Thor, Hsien-ko) but it’s ridiculously powerful in the hands of others. As far as I’m concerned, either leave it as it is or only limit it with some characters. Removing it from everybody doesn’t seem like a smart move.

Wesker:
Phantom Dance hits for full damage anywhere on the screen

Pretty much. Imagine the DHC glitch the same way it is now, but the dmg after the DHC glitch isn’t is obscene as now.

Cillranchelllo, every character can end the DHC trick, just some need to waste X-factor to do so.

in my mind, ending dhc glitch doesnt really make a character that much more viable. for every character that can end the dhc trick in this game that is low, there is a much better option in a higher character.

starting dhc glitch is where its at… and thats where this game really starts to shit on lower tiered characters.

just remove the entire mechanic imho.

-dime

That doesn’t make it a glitch, the same thing happens if you try to do it and kill the guy.

And I’m saying this again before anyone believes you: YOU DO NOT GAIN METER FROM AERIAL EXCHANGE CANCELLING.

Not true of things that are mechanics in the first place.

X-Factor
Reduce attack and defense boosts of Level 3 X-Factor to the amounts gained via Level 2 X-Factor. Length and speed of health healing, speed benefits of X Factor 3 remains the same.
X-Factor boosts should either pertain to the character’s weaknesses or take their strengths to the roof

**Phoenix **
Does not recover health while inactive as Dark Phoenix. >Implying she can control it while tagged out
Remove Feathers from Dark Phoenix attacks, Reduce recovery of teleport while in DP to compensate.
No longer floats in the air for her homing balls, she will continue to decend, this will give more characters a fighting chance.

Haggar
Final Haggar Buster does 900k Damage.
Final Haggar Press, invincible on the way up.
Normal/Air Throws grants OTG on normals for followup combos.
Piledriver and Sky High Back Drop, increased range faster start up and slight damage increase. No followup combos.
The first Rapid Fire Fists Hyper in a combo WILL NEVER cause the opponent to fly out of the last two hits. If a ground bounce has already happened, ending RFF will end the combo, no more followups with exception of an otg Assist.
Increase his god damn walking speed.
Increase hit box of Air M
Lariat hits if crouching. He loses life damn it.
>Sakeido: Lariat loses hard knockdown Shut up.
Lariat: old school REARGH

Tron
Level 3 command grab super does 900k Damage
Longer recovery on Gustaff flame assist to allow punishing

Captain America
Hyper Charging Star is fully invincible to projectiles during active frames
Better Priority on his slow, longer ranged normals
Low angle Aerial shield slash hits otg. subsequent OTG attempts will cause opponent to bounce out, ending the combo.
Cartwheel has normals immunity for initial frames.
Stars and Stripes Assist. Invulnerable frames, increased recovery to allow punishing.

Knockback from end of King’s Armor is invincible.

Dante
Make OTG link from Air S slightly tighter.
Deals double damage if fighting against sakeido

Iron Man

Improve S hit box.
Slight Health Buff
Cr H goes full screen. Hits low (Shenanigans!)

Doom
Defeat is beneath Doom. Therefore any time he is killed it is revealed that it was NOT Doom. It was a DOOMBOT.

Entire Cast
More taunts
More Rivalry stuff mid battle while we’re at it.

I want to say something about Ammy… but I dunno. I feel tweaking her might just ruin her. MAYBE slightly less health

Or Wesker.

I would like to see Chris have a Boulder punch that ends either in a low or a overhead, overhead gives a ground-bounce and the low can be combo’d off and only -1 on block.

I’ll admit, I laughed out loud pretty hard at that one.

Senton drop and Glaive dive cause the TAC system to malfunction. End of story.

List some examples? I’m pretty sure canceling, combos, kara throwing, and reversal attacks were things everybody could do, were glitches, and are now core mechanics of all fighting games.

^It is indeed a glitch. But I honestly don’t think it’s one that needs to be removed. You can break out of both easily since they’re limited to what TAC directional they can do and miss. A combo that can be avoided is not that serious.

Amaterasu
Any time Elements super is done you will hear a sound bite of Tokido and Mago say/singing “Bahn bahn bahn~’”
