Get rid of the DHC glitch. This breaks the system that is supposed to keep combos in check. It also makes certain characters even more powerful, as not every character can do this. This needs to be patched out more than anything else.
Easy. New command normal (f.M) where he swings his walking cane wildly while politely explaining to people that he isn’t even a top 10 character.
So basically…you want every character that you have trouble beating nerfed? The things you’re asking to have changed would make some of those characters pretty much useless…phoenix being vulnerable during transformation would relegate her to gimmick teams and casual play. You would never see another dark phoenix anywhere in any serious play. Sentinel doesn’t need any more changes. If you eat a jS from a level 3 xf

I’m seeing more and more of the tournament scene being dominated by the DHC glitch simply because of the ridiculous amounts of damage it makes possible, and I’ve become convinced that the scene is going to stagnate until it can be gotten rid of. Like (insert-overly-centralising-gameplay-element here [I recommend thinking of thinks like ST Akuma, Old Sagat, 3S Yun/Chun, Brawl’s MK/Snake, CVS2 Roll Canceling, you know the drill]) it is not simply good, it is quite simply one of the best tools a character can have, no matter whether they’re beginning or ending it.
Yes, I know that just about every character can get TOD combos if you factor in regular DHCs, X-factor, and extreme execution, but execution is based on humanity, and humans are flawed. Everybody drops combos coughJWongchokedcough, X-factor is one-shot and requires tactical use, and regular DHCs don’t get to reset damage and hitstun scaling, so even if you can use them to initiate TOD’s, it doesn’t simply require two bars (usually built during the combo), which actually might put it out of reach of players who don’t keep up their strategy.
As such, until we see the end of the DHC glitch and some very severe rebalances for the cast (I’m looking at you, Hsien-ko and Wolverine), we’re going to see the metagame stuck at about this stage. Oh, sure, we’ll probably see quite a bit more Zero, Dante, and…possible some Viper use near the end of whatever time period comes before the changes as people figure out their execution and general gameplans, but we’re not going to see any especial upsets (and before anybody mentions Felicia or MODOK, they’re just not that good. Felicia has resets, sure, but her damage outright sucks and MODOK is…well to be quite frank, he’s a liability unless you build absolutely everything around him. Even moreso than Phoenix, and for less reward, too)
and I thought I was salty about this game…

This solves the wolverine thing, but probably makes Dark Phoenix even more ridiculous than you think she is now. Although on the bright side, she’d be much more interesting to play.
What did taskmaster and Dorm do to deserve that? Be the only non gimmcky Keepouts in the game?
Chaotic Flame is punishable after blocking or attacking from the sky(Dive kicks), Why make that slower too?
Then he would become stupid since the only decent hyper he would have would be Floating Bomb and thats not that great of a hyper to begin with unless you have a mixup after it or you are in Derp Factor.
Ive been air grabbed after a mighty swing, the nerf you want means he get hit by Sentinel Standing S on block.
BTW, stop living in day one mvc3, 50Sent got fixed to where he aint a free win anymore…that helped us all level up and stop using that cheesy “LOL deal with it” line. Hell, before the patch he already had like several bad matchups(Some off the top of my head:Wolv,Ammy,Phoenix,Magnus,and Wesker).
I wanna know why Ammy isnt on that list since she controls all of russias skies with that air grab.
And Haggar aassist nerf? Y? do you want haggar to be the most useless character? He gets shit because hes like every other grappler=zoned out for free.
Magnus bnb IS Air H,or disruptor. take one away,not both.
Whats next, turn ryu’s shinkuu hadoken into the Street fighter version? Make Raging Demon have the worst startup in the game? Get rid of Jill’s hyper Gun Shower?

cant have both less damage and divekick always bouncing… thats ludicrous. his divekick bnb would be like 400k with meter… just nerf his overall damage to where hes doing like 550-580k with his current bnb and he will be more fair.

HELL NO, you trippin’ sentinel is perfectly fine as he is now. one of the more balanced characters… he only has 100k more health than ammy…
and maybe nerf hammers invincibility, or something about that move.

h stays same damage, builds less meter, disruptor isnt slowed down by a HUGE margin, but is slowed a bit, has a tad more recovery to (like 5 frames nothing significant)

damage increase and faster charge shots? surely you jest. just because you want his normals less rigged doesnt mean that giving him those buffs to compensate would be more fair. he would be seriously op with the changes you suggest here, hes already a very good character.

Hulk’s gamma charge should have projectile invincibility like Akuma’s Tatsu that would be a great buff, Hulk should also get a Berserker charge like hyper that Wolverine has, he gets hyper armor on all of his normals.
Chris should be able to aim his Magnum, his pistol shot and the Shotgun diagonally in the air to have some sort of anti-air option, Taskmaster, Deadpool, Dante and Dr. Doom have this, Chris should have too. Spencer needs a OTG hyper, he has lackluster damage from his BnB, compensate that with the lack of his moves. Give Ryu a OTG kick like Dr. Doom has, Give Ryu a alter-ego, Evil Ryu, when Ryu dies he will transform in Evil Ryu ‘‘I can’t control it’’ lol (just joking)
Don’t need necessarily nerf Wesker/Phoenix/Wolverine, make the worse characters better, Hulk with gamma charge with akuma’s tatsu property would be great vs Phoenix, Chris with some option of a AA will be better against Trish and other aerial characters, Chris’ projectiles are already pretty lackluster, magnum SMG shotgun all have slow startup, if his normal gunshot could go horizontal like Wesker, that would be much better. Also why not give Spencer a projectile? They said he can use many weapons, just give him a pistol like Wesker has, Arthur’ should not have to spend meter to get his Golden armor, make it just that he needs a meter to transform, but without spending the meter
Imo the only nerf needed is for Lvl 3 XFC Dark Phoenix.
Just buff the lower tier characters, leave the good one alone, this is a Marvel game and it should stay like that.
I say go all out, split xfactor into many different xfactors, like isms or grooves, each with their own special properties, but all sharing the same roman cancel status.
Example:
Amazing xfactor: Increases atk and spd, cannot airblock
Astonishing xfactor: Cannot be chipped and red health regenerates.
Incredible xfactor: Red health decreases, allows CC mode. Essentially Baroque.
Uncanny xfactor: Instead of chip damage done to health, meter of opposing team is “chipped” instead. Whiffed normals and specials build Meter.
Invincible xfactor: Can be used as many times as you want, Combo breaker, but uses up a bar of meter and red health. Essentially Mega crash. Can activate in air.
Mighty xfactor: Red health is rapidly depletes, but meter rapidly increases for the duration of the xfactor. If there is no more red health, yellow will be drained. Can be turned off and on at will, but depletes steadily when activated from a gauge, the level of which is saved when you turn it off. Gauge is determined from the level you first activate, so level 3 allows you more meter generation. User cannot be killed by using this xfactor.
Fantastic xfactor: Chip dmg is greatly increased, at the cost of meter building. All members of your team get an extra jump.
I really don’t know why people want a burst system in this game.
So we don’t die in one combo. But the problem is people want this to be a fighting game, and its marvel.
But you don’t die in one combo you lose 1/3 of your total health at worst. That’s pretty tame compared to games with balanced burst mechanics where you can lose up to 80% of your total health in one combo.
I have never seen a BNB that did not do over half health. The only time I might have seen this is on a phoenix team not using any meter in combos. Even then with assist, wolverine, sentinel, wesker, zero, dante, magneto, and plenty of other good batteries can do over 50% in one combo no meter. 1/3 health combos were like week one marvel.
