MvC3 Balance Tweaks Take 2: X Factor Harder

The most retarded thing in this game is that assists still come out and do their move AFTER the point character gets hit. In MvC2 if you called an assist and got hit before the assist hit the ground, the assist would just land and do a taunt then leave (or get hit). I was playing my friend the other day and at the start of every round he would mash back C and assist. I would hit him out of it, but then the assist would hit me, he would get up and still have time to combo ME, and did a 100% combo. So my character is dead even though he is the one who got hit. Do people complain about this? If not WHY!?

Because you can blow up assists, or just block if an assist that blows you up like tron is coming in.

And just to be clear I’m talking about Assists like Tron or Haggar. By the time I’ve blocked the assist they’ve gotten up and have created space or mixed me up off the assist’s blockstun.

Yes, that’s the point of those assists. Once they’re called, you better start blocking or get out of the way. You can also try killing the assist with a beam super, it’s not like you don’t have any options.

it’s that they reverse or kill momentum almost entirely regardless of the situation, even in scenarios if the player gets a hit on the point character a split second after they call the assist. it rewards a player for essentially sitting there and doing nothing vs. pressure in many scenarios
’gosh you suck for not being able to punish assists!!’ is not a reasonable response to his complaint and in fact is kind of the attitude he’s complaining about since it has nothing to do with his skill level

You could always immediately launch them, sure its less damage, but its better than running into an assist every damn time.

The problem with Tron is that the window to punish the assist is far too small. Some people don’t run beam assists, and rely on physically hitting the bitch after the flame is done.

Either way, most people use that assist as a crutch. Their point characters are garbage. I generally treat Tron like Phoenix, and snap her bitch ass in when I have the opportunity.

I don’t run Tron at all but I do like that hers is one of the few assists that actually freaking work (attack/defense-wise), however the punish window is way way way too small. In all honesty, I think that’s what’s making it unbearable. Unless you have a long-range option to snipe her out (assist-wise) you’re better off avoiding her or snapping her in and rushing her down.

Increase Phoenix life
Remove Phoenix homing fireballs
Make going Dark Phoenix use up X-Factor instead of hyper bars
