MvC3 Balance Tweaks Take 2: X Factor Harder

Remember, Doom doesn’t always have to be the one rushing down and mixing up. He can very well keep away, chip with beams and photons, and wait for them to come to him.

Or you could just continue to pressure. Everybody screws up sooner or later.

But then people won’t tell me I’m a good Doom! Just kidding, it’s a good point.

Not this, though. Good players will counter attack or nulify repetitive assaults. As a matter of fact, I often stop attacking less experienced Doom players completely just to troll them by completely shutting down their offence (it’s so easy!).

I have to admit it’s how I play Tron, though.

Haggar

  • All versions of piledriver can be comboed off of afterwards like Thor.
  • H Hoodlum launcher has reduced start up and recovers quickly in the air so Haggar can attack afterward.
  • Level 3 now does 600,000 damage, is completely invincible, and can be comboed into.
  • L violent Axe goes through projectiles.
  • Drop kick enters rolling state quicker.

Hulk

  • Standing H becomes an overhead.
  • All Gamma Charges get at least some armor.
  • Dash becomes cancelable
  • Gamma wave assist goes full screen.
  • L Gamma wave hits low and pops the opponent up higher so they can be easily comboed into gamma tsunami. (there’s no reason to use it at the moment)
  • Increased range on H Gamma throw
  • New gamma rage super that increases damage, speed, and regeneration by 10% for a moderate duration.

Hsien Ko

  • Current dash becomes a special move and she gets a new normal dash that’s quick and effective.
  • Projectiles no longer random. They are dependent on the button pressed.
  • 950k health.
  • 8% damage increase across the board.

and now we have another broken super armored character :lol:

Hulk needs nothing, s.H is broken enough already.

That’d be an interesting change, but I think Doom needs a crouch cancellable dash first and foremost.

viewtiful joe wishlist:
-make his crouching M have more range so it can hit crouching opponent, it even whiff on a crouching sentinel …it really frustrating when i go for a crouching A B C and the cr. M just whiff.
-his bombs should not hit himself.
-make light redhot kick OTG, it was in the Joe reveal trailer but they took it out

Characters with uppercuts/DP assists should have some invincibility like ryu, spiderman,morrigan,joe etc. So their DP assists is actually worth using

lol @ haggar being able to combo into a move that dishes out 600k.

Hulk really doesn’t need much but the armored Gamma Charge would be nice. The startup of his command throws should also be reduced.

With the community’s love of all things “broken” you’d think that with a claim as preposterous as this that Hulk would be as used as Sent is or at least not regularly placed in the low-mid to lower tiers by the general consensus.

:h: isn’t broken and you actually have to know when to use it. If you have a problem against :h: spamming Hulks, then it’s on you. I get my ass handed to me when I get :h: happy.

-Tiering the projectile durability of the armor, while counter tiering the distance traveled, for each of his Gamma Charges is all he needs to be a bit more viable. :l: Gamma Charge should travel through a Plasma Beam and only go 1/4 the screen while :h: Gamma Charge can only go through a Hadouken/SamEdge but travel 3/4th (and be safe on arrival).

While overall armor on GCharges would be sick… they’d be a bit much. And, while I complain, a lot, that the Hulk needs more to get in, if he can walk through everything, then he’ll be legitimately broken.

You know there are people who can attest to something being unusual without actually having a problem in dealing with it.

Let me say this again, you know nothing about the phoenix, and probably the game as a whole if you think you have to chip phoenix to death in order to kill her.

Every time she’s snapped in its a 50/50, she has to block one way or the other, or she’s going to fireball. Set up the 50/50 and punish her if she fireballs.

Everything you say after the bolded part is just stupid, there was no point to post it, unless your point was to show off how little you know about this game. (That does not mean everything above or including the bolded part isn’t stupid)

True, but when you state something like you did you’re going to elicit a response like mine.

Another decent strategy I’ve been using especially with characters that have fast ground movement like X23 is just running up and super jump air throwing Phoenix before the fireball releases. The fireball has 20 frames of start up if you’re fighting regular Phoenix and that’s plenty of time to just run up and air throw if she hasn’t already got one out and you know that’s what she’s going for. If she only has one fireball out and is preparing for a 2nd air fireball you can run behind her and air back throw her before a second one releases. Just have to be careful of her dive kicking if she recovers fast enough.

Generally with the ground based characters you have to learn to fight her while running away from her at the same time. If she puts more than one H fireball on the screen you pretty much HAVE to run away There’s no point in actually engaging a Phoenix that has more than one fireball on the screen.

This is because the only way to beat the fireballs once they’re out is by turtling them out so they dissapear. This also works in your favor offensively because she can’t safely teleport near you if the homing fireballs are a mile away and there’s a chance they could dissapear before they get to you. Then once the fireballs clear try to amount an offense again before she gets more out.

These suggestions would make Hulk incredibly broken. The Gamma Charge one is the only one thats rational, and it’s pretty much general consensus from what I’ve been reading in this thread anyway.

Standing H being an overhead would be too good. Dashes can be jump canceled, they work fine as is. L Gamma Wave hitting low is really unnecessary also. Gamma Tornado is okay, the range is deceptive but still pretty nice and you can kara cancel s.M or s.H into it.

The Gamma Rage super is just fanservice and would make him into Dark Phoenix on a cocaine binge with 1.2mil. Why not give him Hsien-Ko’s Hyper armor move while we’re at it? Let’s break him right if we’re gonna break him.

Dude if you think any of those changes would make him incredibly broken, you’re not looking at the current top tiers of this game. I actually like those changes. Make him an actual threat. A game where everyone is on crack is more fun than a game where everyone is on life support.

Only thing I disagree with is 1.2 mil health char regenerating. That just doesn’t make any sense. The other buffs for the gamma rage super are legit though.

Lv3 X-Factor needs to go.

And overall the game balance should reward smart play and strategies rather than the randomness that is this game. I like mvc3 but it’s just too much sometimes.

I thought I was just bein a punk when I get mad cr. l seems to hit me CONSTANTLY. Glad to see others thing its crazy as well. I swear you can get cr. l out of everything! unreal
