MvC3 Akuma / Gouki General Discussion Thread

Haggar’s Lariat Assist would help akuma a little perhaps
Joe i am not too sure really

If Voomerang turns upwards, it controls the air relatively well for a moment. That’s good for Akuma. Shocking Pink has a good hitbox, not sure if you want to risk possible, er, side effects though.

Akuma looks way more geared towards rush down, especially now that air fireballs don’t make him stall in the air. If you want a keepaway team I’m sure you can find 3 other characters much more suited for it, I don’t think Akuma’s gonna be able to keep out very well.

going to be dope to play! SGS is uber fast! Wished there was a KKZ!

well then how would akuma fit on the team i listed then?

well use joe for meter building haggar for his “gdlk” assist and akuma to use those hypers for big damage/SGS

Joe won’t be the best battery now, probably, because of how good Slow-Mo is. Akuma should be able to capitalize great on slow, but it screws with Haggar since they just superjump and he can’t reliably catch them and it burns the clock.

Any theories on ideal partners for Akuma?

If Akuma’s presumed AAA is as good as Ryu’s, he will fit fine in the third slot of any keepaway team. His DHC ability is a bonus.

I don’t think you really want three extreme keepaway characters on a team anyway. Teams that skew too far in one direction are more susceptible to hard counters.

If you’re piutting Akuma on your team for his AAA and DHC ability you might as well just use Ryu. Ryu has a great AAA, his Shinkuu is a better DHC option from all appearances and he won’t bleed nearly as bad as Akuma. Akuma would be a far greater asset to rushdown in my opinion.

I agree, but if you WANT to play Akuma, then you should play Akuma. There’s a pretty good chance that Akuma will be better on point, regardless. That’s reason enough to use him over Ryu if they both service as an AAA.

Honestly I’m probably one of the biggest proponents of using who you want to use, I was just thinking about maximum efficiency from what we can tell. Trust me, my Tron/Wesker/Hsien Ko team wasn’t constructed from months of theory fighting and piecing stuff together, it’s just who I like.

Is Akuma’s health even that bad, though? It looked perfectly ok in the vids.

And that team sounds very susceptible to runaway.

I would think Wesker would be able to close gaps without too much trouble. Hsien Ko’s got some mobility options too. Though like I said, it wasn’t constructed in hopes of even being a good team, it’s just my three favorite characters.

Akuma’s health seems pretty bad. If you watch in the vids, almost every time Akuma gets caught in a combo they drop it a fouth of the way in. There’s a point where Tasky stops after like three hits and its obvious if he had kept going and combo’d into super Akuma would probably be dead.

Has there been any video evidence of this yet? The only thing I’ve seen that’s mentioned it so far is Kanta-kun’s impressions some time back (and only with Maximum Wesker super for some reason), but I haven’t seen anybody else confirm this yet, much less seen any video of it.

I think this thread should be named “japanese for Fuck you up” honestly speaking.

but props for it being ST Akuma. speaking of, does anyone know if he has his earth breaking attack?

Haha, Akuma does look pretty darn good for offense. I wonder how well he’ll fare up against more mobile characters in MVC3.

**** yusss hahahaha thank you capcom!!! Xdxdxd
