WHY THE FUCK ARE PEOPLE STILL CALLING THIS COMBO “ROM!?!?!?!?” IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ROM NOR THE MVC2 COMBO BEARING HIS NAME!!!
Gah I don’t know why that pisses me off so much. Almost as much as people not only mispronouncing Haggar, but even mis-spelling it Hagger to match their idiocy. Take it from an old school Final Fight player, it’s Haggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarre you a dipshit?
God that was funny. Mostly because I agree indefinitely. I feel that same rage with Amaterasu. Not so much with pronunciation (Since that will happen given the nature of the name) but them calling her DOG and HIM. She’s a Goddess that created all life, show some respect!!!
And I wont even bother with Amaterasu. 95% of the playing population doesn’t know you’re not supposed to pronounce the U. It’s pronounced AM-A-TER-AS. That doesn’t bother me though, it’s Japanese, not English.
Because it’s Magneto and it’s a repeated up and down motion extended combo to the corner, so it reminds people of the MvC2 ROM infinite? Come on, dude, is it really that serious? Watch this and take it easy before you bust a vessel in your brain.
PS. Y’all know that wolves are a subset of dogs, right? Canis Lupus? Even Japanese fans call Ammy 犬.
Xenogenesis: no. It would be closest to ah-mah-teh-ross. And regarding the pronunciation of the trailing u, it’s not commonly done, but it’s not wrong to pronounce it.
That’s why we call it the GHETTO Rom combo. It’s a bootleg ver. of a Rom combo.
Eh, I stopped caring about how people pronounce Jap words now anyway. 90% of the time when someone says a Japanese word “right” they’re still saying it with a cracka’ ass accent anyway, like “mawn-guh” for manga, “nihn-juh gai-dihn” for “neenja gaiden”, or “Aw-muh-tei-raws” for “amateras”
I am pretty sure dogs are a result from wolves via evolution. Nicer wolves got closer to towns, and were tamed to be pets. So still Wolf>Dog if we want to get technical.
