Thanks everyone. Some thoughts on the team from playing some offline matches:
Dante plus Vajra is really oppressive, the opponent has to commit to hitting either Dante or Strider. If they hit one the other can most likely save them.
While Dark harmonizer is great for meter, most of my touches with Dante turn in to at least 1.5 meters. For now Soul Fist gives me the ability to go into Clay Pigeon loops off of air throw and build even more meter.
My major DHC after a combo has been Million Dollars to Astral Vision. The floating knockdown allows me time to set up some silly fireball patterns do great (usually killing) chip and build some more meter back.
Vajra is even better than I thought it would be with Morrigan. While it can be avoided, it forces a very linear movement path, and on hit in the air, doesn’t reset them like missles.
All in all, I feel like this team was a great move for me. I hope to be able to contribute to these forums more once I learn this team better.
I wonder how much damage you can get with DHC into AV of MD when you discard the last hit of MD (So the character get into that weird floating state), I bet you can get two shots of S Soul Fist (you and the replica) and maybe fly cancel into H soul Fist or something. Sound chip and disgusting, just as we like it.
Only problem is playing Dante on point with Morrigans’s assists which are kinda lacking, but maybe it could be nice tac option.
It is also possible after AV to call Dante then S soul fist fly cancel into h soul fist, i think it is also possible to do s soul fists another time instead of the h one but it is tighter.
I haven’t really tested the DHC too much but it is probably position dependent. Im running Shadow Blade assist for the invincible CC and it helps setup mixups and extend combos
if you did a real dante combo before the million dollars, the opponent will flip out immediately after the soul drains connect.
just fire the one set, then start the spammin
actually, random idea popped into my head while i was trying to fall asleep. something like
might work. that’s a big ‘might’ though, i haven’t played much of morrigan in a while and don’t really remember what she can do when hsd is maxed out. and of course it would be a rather spacing-dependent combo.
there was a REALLY good morrigan combo video where a guy went from no meter no power ups to astral vision mid combo and a level 3 at the end with cold star and eye of agamotto assist.
Did he just stole 3 METERS? OMG that is incredible sexy stuff, maybe try a team of Morrigan/Dante/RR or Dr Strange, that soul drain is too sexy to not use it.
You guys did know morrigan can do solo meter stealing combos right? you can get two+ of them in a corner combo and maybe 4 mid screen when you have the mirror up
unfortunately the non AV versions only work in the corner.
But do any on you guys remember that move that we were searching for a use for? Goes by the name, Dark Quills?
lol, for everyone who forgot that move existed, its forward medium.
in the corner if you are close enough when you hit them you can do the opener of your choice into M - F+M - Soul Drain - Fly - S - DP M - fly - H - fireball - unfly - air dash S - Launch
and after the launch, im not sure because its been a while, but you should be able to do a regular magic series. and than after you land, do Soul Drain into the DP super so that the super Otgs them into the fireball.
Instead of magic series, it makes it more lenient on the soul drain if you launch into: H - L Fireball - fly- down air dash S.
outside of the corner, you have to have AV up, but then the F+M - soul drain - fly - S - Dp M steals twice the meter and is easier. and if you do that in the corner, you should be able to do the soul drain - shadow servant ender for a total of 1.2 bars stolen from the opponent.
it is very technical though, which explains why I dont do it. Im still working on trying to master Cr. H - f+H - DP L - fly - H - Fireball.
One thing I DO do however
air dash S - st. L - M - f+M - X-Factor - Soul Drain - Shadow Servant
^^^ that is SUPER easy and is an auto kill on phoenix

Oh, I thought you actually had something for mid-screen. The f.M stuff has trouble leading into a full combo if you started with j.S, so I don’t really use it.
