I liked Morri in the back with old X-factor, but not anymore. Point or second, and the only reason for second is Harmonizer.
Yeah, If you build your team around Harmonizer then 2nd is nice spot, but i even stopped using that…
Been running Morrigan as my main in every game she’s been in since DS3. She’s my favorite game character ever ( well, her and tails). Idk if it’s been mentioned, but doc strange is a godlike teammate for Morrigan…he gives her so much. SoV for obvious dhc purposes, and his EoA assist covers Morrigan from basically any kind of counter attack when she’s fireball zoning…and since it stays out for so long, it basically gives the assist timer a chance to reset so that as soon as EoA disappears, you can bring it back in. Yeah, vajra will still hit Morrigan out of fireball zoning, but he also falls right into EoA which gives Morrigan a chance to kill him ( if you’re quick and are okay with using mete). It also helps vs teleporters…and skrull. I’m telling y’all, strange and Morrigan are bffs. My team is Morrigan ( harmonizer ) / strange ( EoA) / Vergil ( rapid slash). There’s also some great assist synergy between Morrigan and Vergil too. Fireball zoning covers vergil rapid slash assist which keeps him relatively safe and the opponent has to deal with being crossed up while dealing with fireball zoning…and Morrigan gives Vergil all the meter he wants via harmonizer… And furthermore, strange and Vergil work well together too. You thought stranges vortex was bad before ? Throw Vergil rapid slash assist in there…good luck blocking. And EoA assist helps Vergil creat mixups. I’m the first person I’ve seen run this team, and it’s a very strong team. I’m tellin y’all, if you see a pro running this in the future, remember who did it first
Sorry for the rant -_- my team just gets me so hype
Rushdown Artist, blocking position is based off of your active character on the screen, not your assist. Therefore, rapid slash will not cross up if used as an assist.
It will if you teleport behind them with strange when it hits…
Also, I love ranting about my team too.
I’ve managed to take 3 low damage charcters and give them the ability to one touch the majority of the character in the game in the game off of most situations.
Context is important:
Just to further elaborate, but the reason for my previous statement is that this quote is wrong.
…I’m not sure if he actually believe rapid slash assist can cross up on it’s own or he meant my stuff which is soul fist to cover Vergil entry then fly > air dash xN to switch sides before Vergil hits.
We might never know the answer for it
How good of a team is Morrigan/Dante/Felicia
RBS is a great neutral game assist for both Morrigan and Dante and Jam session is always great.
The DHC synergy dosent seem great and I would need to do a lot of work to do damage but… I think I could work with this team
Was wondering if a team consisting of: Nemesis/Morrigan/Ammy would be feasible?
You can ask it about any 3 random character, why would you suggest this(that? english is not my native) team?
If it’s because you just like all the 3 characters, by all means, give it a go. But otherwise, why do you think this team should work?
Currently I’ve had trouble with players getting up under me when I take to the air. Players with good rapid wavedashing can really screw up my inputs for soul fist volleys/air dash/ and unflies. I know you can’t super jump then call assists, but I still need a partner who can cover her by controlling either the space directly underneath her or ground level horizontal control.
I currently run Morrigan/Rocket/Doom, Chris/Morrigan/Doom, and Chris/Rocket/Morrigan. I’m open to most suggestions with the exception of Sentinel and Modok, simply because I don’t enjoy playing them.
Thanks for the tips for those that come forward.
haggar.
try do something like
(ground) 236lp (horizontal soul fist) fly cancel and then go to your air game, it may prevent them from running under you. Summoning Doom before you go to the air might do the trick to (HM i assume, if not, get it)
I was leaning toward Shuma-Gorath/Dormammu/Dr. Strange last night, but I think, instead, that I want to give a shot to a team that I have been thinking about for roughly 6 months, but never wanted to play because I hated Dr. Strange:
Dr. Strange (Bolts of Balthakk)
Dormammu (Dark Hole)
Morrigan (Dark Harmonizer)
Dr. Strange plays the delay game while building meter. He can make good use of the meter for himself to punish assist calls and such, too. THCing between Dormammu and Dr. Strange does let both Spell of Vishanti and Chaotic Flame hit, but I haven’t tried the DHC yet. DHcing to Spell of Vishanti and Stalking Flare hits for only part of the flare.
As soon as I have some meter built up, I DHC Dormammu in and play the Dormammu/Morrigan synergy up as much as possible. Lots of Stalking Flares, in other words. Dr. Strange covers Dormammu’s biggest problem: beam hypers can no longer stop Stalking Flare since I can now DHC into Seven Rings of Raggador.
If my opponent has a keepaway team with something like Vajra, I’ll just turtle with Dr. Strange while calling Morrigan to build meter to kill the assist with Spell of Vishanti XFC Spell of Vishanti. If the opponent has a rushdown team, play standard Dr. Strange keepaway. If the opponent is teleport rushdown with Hidden Missiles/Jam Session/Vajra, I start the fight with Dormammu or Morrigan on point instead, and use Bolts of Balthakk to shut down the opponent’s assist while having a strong rushdown game myself.
Thoughts?
do you have anything to protect the morrigan calls?
all in all, it sounds like a deliciously lame team to fight against. and if I ever had enough time to practice the game with anything other than my main team, I would consider trying that myself.
I’ve honestly never need to protect the Dark Harmonizer calls. She’s only vulnerable for 10 frames. Dr. Strange and Dormammu can both instant full screen hyper from anywhere if I want to say “no”, though.
well, since a few people in my area hopped on the morrigan bandwagon, ive personaly gotten really good at eating her when she gets called too much.
Keep away with Strange is a bit hard against solid rushdown, take into account that without some kind of gtfo assist, the good doctor can hardly press any button, and when does, he probably dies.
That’s why the instant full screen hyper is key! Protect your lady!
I discovered that today. If I hit anyone with Dr. Strange, it seems like I just got lucky…
So I’m experimenting with Amaterasu / Dormammu / Morrigan.
Does anyone know a good way to pull off Veil of Mist -> Astral Vision mid-combo to let Morrigan land a Soul Drain series? I imagine it must be possible.
