So I’m pretty set on cable and venom on my team. I’ve used Morrigan since mvc1 but I’ve been thinking of swapping her out. Who’s a character that has a good super and might work well with the two I already have?
Love doing the triple super (all 3 characters doing the super at the same time) with Cable, War Machine, and Iron Man (all 3 of them doing the beams) on my opponent’s 2 characters (when their assist fails)!!! Mega Damage!!!
Also, like how Iceman can’t get chip damaged by any projectiles to include supers I think!
If ya’ll ever wanna play this on Parsec, lemme know. Eventually I’ll probably set up NULLDC.
Ps3 gang gang
It was this game and 3s on Dreamcast that got me into fighting games, and eventually on here(After posting on gamefaqs and meeting DevilJin directing me to here). I miss how hype shit was back then/
It’s still hype.
I love that new stuff is still being found in some of these older games. Makes me wonder if that’ll still be the case with the new games many years from now or not.
Wow. Two years after it’s release, I’ve remembered discontinued entering tournaments, as this was one of them I’ve paid to attend. The old games still have it’s staple today, which new games are in the shadow of it’s former self.
I can’t blame the ones who gave birth to the likes of retro fighting game applications, reliving the days of old.
Despite it’s GAPING flaws, UMVC3 was a pretty GOOD follow-up overall (Not great but, Good), with it’s own memorable qualities. The cast was GOLD for sure (even if it was missing Captain Commando and Juggernaut!).
However, MVC2 > UMVC3. All day, every day, into Eternity.
Edit: And i don’t even want to talk about MVC Infinite, or “Avengers Vs Capcom” as it was. Yeesh. I just pretend that still-born title never existed. The series ends with UMVC3.
FTFY!
UMVC3 was a meaningful and fun entry in the series, even if it was… OTG: The Game.
“Yo dawg i heard you like OTGs, so i made a game that lets you do them all f’ing day”.
Edit: You could also call it, “Dive-Kick: The Game”. Any character that had a dive-kick, you were assured that 40% of any player’s strategy would revolve around it’s usage. And UMVC3 no doubt directly inspired the actual “Dive-kick” game that got made a while back.
The more i think about the obnoxious OTGs and Dive-kicks, the more i remember why i HATED UMVC3 half the time.
I think a game like MvC2 being as good as it is can only really happen on accident, at least as far as Capcom being involved.
Soundtrack to this game is still Amazing I remember people on here complaining about the music. Funny thing about this game was when my cousin would see me playing it on Dreamcast he would always say
" What the hell is actually going on? Too much crap is happening on screen ? "
