MvC2: Strider/Doom thread

Stick with IM instead of BH as BH/Stri/Doom is wayyyyyy too Doom dependent. Once doom dies your whole team is dead. IM can work without Doom, but the same cant be said about BH. Strider/IM works okay. Without Doom its just more rushdown oriented. You can try to land an ouroborus and tag into infinite.

Stick with his teleporting assist, its semi useful against some traps and he can still do the counter xx ouro.

If Doom gets snapped in, try to get Strider back in ASAP. keep your distance, throw out some standing/jumping fierce with IMs AAA and ground photons once in a while. You can try to get a random tag in with IM and into the infinite and DHC your way back in with Strider.

i recently started messing around with Strider/IM/Doom and found it to be very effective. You start off with the trap and if things get kinda hairy, just Legion xx PC that shit. Very effective frame kill.

Can someone tell me the non-cross-up method of the trap

hey i’d just like to say that i was in the media section of srk and was watchin the soo mighty match against that guy that used strider/doom…would you guys say that the strider/doom trap was perfectly excecuted or that soo just didn’t do all that great?

Well if u talkin about the clock soo matches, soo did all he could. Though clock had him on lock most of the first game and almost the second. There is however no “perfect” strider doom trap. If u look at it, soo’s mag had a chance to combo and kill srtider in game 1 but messed up cause i dont think he thought he was gonna hit. In the second game cable had some room to work with but again he threw out a hyper and paid. Wasnt all soo’s fault thou the trap was executed hella good just not perfect.

Clock’s team also countered Soo’s. Sentinel ground assist helps stuff magneto rushdown. Everytime soo wanted to get in, Clock just called sentinel, which gave him enough time to do whatever he wanted after, whether it was to call orbs, teleport, or toss an animal.

Soo shoulda used mags/cbl/cyke and it woulda been a different story!

i think if he swaped psy for storm instead, then soo would had an easier rushin

Well even if soo did have those teams/partners yall say. I still think clock would of won, as you could see he knew strider/doom very well, and with sentinel thats a added bonus of strength.

Zatalcon - I have a qestion for you… Do you really play Magnus/Strider/Doom? and How do you play them together?

mags/cable/storm isnt that great of a team in any order.

um… what makes you say that?

Magneto/Strider/Doom is good if you know your opponent isn’t going to pick Sentinel.

If you can call Doom safely, he can cover for Magneto triangle jumps for a while. And Magneto builds tons of meter for Strider/Doom.

If you keep Magnus around, he’s a good assist for Doom, too.

See im kind of a n00b with Magnus…But that dont stop me from playing him, im getting MvC2 Nov.13th for the PS2, but id have to say im a pretty decent Manus player, as for strider/doom i keep messing up with the Teleport, i mess up and he does that wicked lil split kick crap, but i can still trap them without the Teleport. My doom could use some work, but once i get the game for the ps2 ill be better off, ill be able to practice.

Um, everybody knows that Strider has one infinite? Thats is only work on Sent, right? Well I think i found another of his infinite. He how it work, btw, this infinite only works on heavy character, sent, jug, blackheart, but i havn’t test this against sent yet.

Oppenet in corner
Launch+doom’s AAA, sj.lp, sj.mp, sj.hp,Dooms rock will bounce him up, sj.hp, land, s.lk otg, s.mp, s.hp [s.lp, s.mp, s.hp]

I ganrenteed you that this combo wont be easy to do plus you will probably wont’ able to do this infinite in tournament play or even some malls games.

Just to say “I dont think thats a infinte” but i may be wrong.

It is, its a juggle in FS mode. In FS mode, you won’t move back when you hit him. Plus it only works on heavy character because other characters juggle in the air to high, thus they will recover before they get in the right postion to be hit.

thanks for the feedback…so basically, if you have a good enough strider/doom, a good magz won’t be able to take it down? i like strider/doom just fine, but the idea of a trap being able to stuff a good magz (well a great magz) is just a disturbing thought. but like you said, soo did have a chance…

how would one counter strider/doom?
