I don’t think anyone yet has mentioned in this thread that if the opponent has a great point character (i.e. magneto, sentinel, etc) and has an assist character that isn’t that great of a point character (i.e. psylocke, captain commando, etc), you might want to snap the assist in
Also, if any of the opponent’s two characters on assist has alot of recoverable damage, you might want to snap that character in so their recoverable damage disappears
Also, some people snapback after they did a bunch of infinite hits, then attempt a guard break on the new character into an infinite, and repeat
Also, some people go for counter character theory. For example someone might think Magneto has an advantage over Cable, and Cable has an advantage over Sentinel. Suppose you have Cable on point and the opponent has Magneto on point (and Sentinel on assist). Since you think their Magneto has an advantage over your Cable, you might want to snap in Sentinel since you think your Cable has an advantage over their Sentinel. The counter character theory is also why some people change characters (to give themselves the better matchup)
not always safe if the opponent has a good framekill on the super jump screen. not always safe if the opponent can call assists on the superjump screen. not always safe if the opponent can hit you on the ground when they are on the superjump screen… etc…
I’ll help you out by telling you that Dr.Doom’s AAA owns Guile/Cable/Capcom 99.9% of the time if you play an aggressive Cable and/or Sentiniel with crossups.
Infact, it owns Guile hardcore. Trust me, I’ve had a Guile/Cable/Capcom scrub kick the screen and brake the 2P joystick off in fustration.
But to answer the real question there. If he swtiches for Cable once Guile is almost a goner. You might as well lk, lk, fk, AHVB. Do the AHVB x 2 since you’d probubly have the meter for it. At that point, get some really safe chipping in OR play a run from Cable game until your opp. realizes that he won’t win until go goes and earns a combo to AHVB off of.

Today, I saw a worse scrub than me playing against some average scrub (=kind like me) using team tourney. Mother of God… this poor fellow tried so hard with his Megaman/Ryu/random guy. I couldn’t even find words to help him out. He was pressing all the buttons non stop like crazy, and keep on changing characters even if his opponent was standing in front of him, not blocking. Once a while he gets a lucky triple super out, but that was the only way for him to make damage.
uhh dude just because somebody sucks at the game, it doesnt not make them a scrub. A scrub is somebody who sees and plays the game completely ignorantly. It sounds like the guy just didnt know what the hell he was doing.
