Ya I can probably provide some setups for that vid also
How would you guys recommend getting into MvC2 now? I know the onlineās dead as a doorknob and it gets no coverage anymore, but I really want to play this game now. Iām currently trying to run Anakaris/Amingo/Blackheart.
^-- Amingo is gawddawful terrible: Iām not sure how he contributes to that team. Heās mediocre on point if you really want to use him. Most people use somebody that sets up Anakarisā curse infinite.
Switch amingo for thanos and that team could be pretty scary. Combo into thanos bubble then hit with anakaris curseā¦ then repeatā¦
That is completely wrong. MvC2 online is quite lively and there are always intermediate to advanced players using a wide variety of teams. I donāt know where you are getting your MvC2 Online information from, but your source is flawed.
This is an Amingo Infinite:

Amingo 100% Combo (1 meter):

Thanks for the help. Iāve played around with Thanos a bit and Iām really liking him. Gotta love it when you get a capture state infinite. Plus, Thanos has dat Infinite Bitch Slap (st.HP).
Most people donāt stick with their first team.
Pick an anti-air assist ā¦ pref. one to help land curses with Anakaris (Just like preppy said). Also having an anti air for BH to help combo after his pokes is a must.
FWIW the sent unblockable works because its a multipart beam. The idea is to force them to land on the second hitbox associated with the beam (which is a timing thing-- there is no magical spot on the hitbox that is UB, though spacing during setups can help with the timing). Itās imposible to block bc you are coming into contact with second part of the beam which is an active hitbox with no startup frames and u can only block something with startup frames.
Put up a more detailed version of the Jill vid posted earlier, added a IM tag in combo mentioned above and put up some Wolverine stuff - its got most of the Wolverines / Sent stuff i was planning to use.
Eczangief - could you PM me any stuff you wanted to add?
Sorry it took awhile - been lazy.
EDIT - Somehow uploaded the wolverine vid with 30 - 40 sec missing. Proper link below ( vid should be just under 3 minutes).

hey black people,
i am going to start playing this game! been playing ST competitively for a while, but MvC2 is generally my favorite game to watch (and still is) at the arcade (we have had a recent and decent arcade revival here in BC), but I never thought it was for me. But now I am all like fuck my brain lets do some things with stuff, etc.
wtf are you even saying
gonna try and learn this game or somethinā cause its been getting attention at the arcade i play at and shit and stuff
sure you will. let us know how that goes
k!
I have found one thread on SRK pertaining to guard cancel, anybody care to explain to me how this is done and is this important to learn?
Standard answer - It allows you to escape chip patterns like sentinels HSF. Pushblock at the right time and after the brief flash you can sj to escape. So pushblock at the right time and you can escape - even punish - things you wouldnāt normally be able to.
Look at the advanced tactics vids - donāt think the first one is on youtube

Old thread but has some stuff you might not know.
One very unique thing Iāve found (Donāt know if discovered before or not) is that Magneto has a tag in infinite. To do it you do a magneto otg lk to hk to hyper gravitation. After that you move forward a bit and then tag in B.B. Hood and then immediately press HK and tag in Magneto.
