Thanks. A random guy IRL tried to fool me once. He was blaming the speed setting for his loss and asked to switch to Turbo 2 (we were playing on T1). He said T2 was the arcade default for tourneys and MMs. It sounded way too fishy (was T2 even available on the arcade version?), but I just let him do w/e he wanted. And then, he lost again.
A-cho getting some cabs set up so players can prepare for next month’s capcom olympic.

Some locals playing at an old arcade here. Players aren’t the best (might be some really old vets shaking off the rust, or new guys trying out the game), didn’t really feel like bumping the recent vids thread for it. Just glad to see the game being played a bit during the holidays.

if the MAS case is still fine you can get a Akishop PS360+ PCB, as for optical joysticks you might have to make a request in the trading outlet for some Wico P360 Joysticks.

Why? They didn’t want to have to tear down the stream setup and rebuild it. I didn’t hear any complaints from anybody, but didn’t play on it myself. I did get fucked by the stream resetting in my match vs Neo, but w/e that’s an 8.5-1.5 matchup in his favor anyways. As a computer programmer, I was annoyed: that shit’s fixable. :lol:
Quick personal MvC2 notes from NWM:
- my buster placements were terrrrrrrible. The game felt way sloooooower than PS3/Xbox, and I suspect that really fucked with my timing. Will have to be aware of that the next never time I play on Dreamcast. Watching my matchups vs Sentinel I’m typically 1/4 body height from where I want to be putting that out: I wasn’t nearly abusing the buster “drift” glitch/tactic hard enough.
- Sentinel is terrrrrrrrrrrribly oppressive to everybody else in the game. You just don’t get to play. Storm is fantastic and easily beats you, but Sentinel is oppressive and owns the midrange game better than anybody else. At this point I’m firmly voting for Sentinel as top 1 with Storm as 1b. He makes almost every team better.
- Charlie Goblyn is as tight as I expected him to be as a person, and way better than I expected him to be as a player.
- Alpha counter into AHVB is WAY easier on Dreamcast. I don’t think I ever missed it.
- Mashing out of HG->MT on WAY harder Dreamcast than on XBLA/PSN for me at this point. I feel so dumb being hit by that.
- Bad joysticks kill. Tron dies to Sentinel 1000000000000:1 if you can’t get out the Kobun copters.
- Santhrax clearly the best team in the game, Team RowTron probably clearly the most fun to play as.
- Storm’s Roundhouse (any variety) is grievously underrated. Her heavies remain just way better than is reasonable in any fashion.
- It was interesting seeing the return of switch glitched back-dash Sent openers. I’d forgotten half my punishes for that.
- Nobody fell for the Cable crackdown/Tron-Y call crossunder on incoming. Feel like I timed it wrong: normally I get people every time, and it’s decent chip/meter that’s almost unpunishable in any sane fashion for them (since rings will break up any punish attempt).
- Neo’s Sentinel seemed better than Sanford’s in the late games, which was very surprising to me.
- I don’t know why people are still going for the unblockable against Tron. Does nobody play Tron other than me? That shit is impossible to time against Tron (at least Matrix and I know how, but I obviously have reasons to not tell you) even without the Just Defend ability to block the unblockable.
There was some other stuff I was thinking about, but that’s it quickly.
Omega Red, Ruby Heart, and glitching Juggy remain king of the low tiers to me.
