Marvel is a dead game? When THIS much hype is created by two (no offense primal or brett and fuck off phocus you sore loser) 2nd tier players… …seriously… this game isn’t dead by a loooong stretch. All that’s missing is the 1st tier players playing at majors and you’d be right back to what it has always been… the greatest fighting game in history being still played constantly at the highest level. Then you have to ask yourself… “Why have the 1st tier players moved on?” Simple. The majors removed the game in favor of newer games. That’s it. Any major that puts it back on the agenda will see the sign ups… the hype… the legendary matches… the big name players… right back where they used to be.
It’s more an interest of corporate bullshit. They don’t want people still playing mvc2… they want you buying mvc3… super omega mvc3… ultimate fluffy fairy mvc3… and so on… and so forth. The push from these folks to sideline mvc2 is pretty big and therefore you see the big tournaments no longer hosting the game. Hence your wongs… sanfords… yipes… schmidts… clockworks… neos… ect… ect… no longer have a venue at which to play. The money isn’t there… the coverage isn’t there… so they move onto other games. Fact of the matter is I’ve never seen a single one of these guys suggest anywhere that marvel 3 is the better game. Further fact of the matter is that I’ve seen most all suggest that marvel 2 is the better game and that they are playing marvel 3 b/c that’s where the money is at the moment.
Right now mvc2 is a ‘sleeper’. When the right time and place for it to once again shine falls into place… players will be coming out of the woodwork to play and showcase it. An entire new generation of mvc2 players has been born online and are literally legion in number. But… like any good legion they need leaders and the full resurrection wont happen until those leaders have the right venue… incentive… and rewards… to step out and make it happen.
In mvc2’s final year at evo it saw something like 300 people sign up. This was more than some games that are STILL on the agenda today get. Their decision to remove it CLEARLY had nothing to do with the game itself OR the desire of the people playing it.

And for the punishment or what have you, experience is the best teacher. I didn’t give him a chance to breath, oh well. I guess I am a ‘Masher’, my apologizes for taken a defense to it. And not to hate (but hating) I dont think his execution is that good. Lots of ppl can infinite to corner, then hypergrav XX tempest. But it’s kinda boring to play against. One thing that I learn vs. JBM is to get the first hit though, cause he will get the ROM to corner. I think he could work on being more tricky to get the first hit though. He’s pretty patient. NAH MEAN?

sorry for all the walls of text. I guess I’ll make up for it by recording some of the combos I’ve come up with over the past few years.
Starting with this one: MvC2 - Ironman 4+ top of screen to bottom air to grounds on small character

MvC2: Magneto and Ironman sideswitch combos from their standard infinites (sucks that pause annotations are temporarily broken)
The actual ft10 that we played before this i scraped him 10-1. this is just a random set that he himself deemed a ft10.

I beat you 4 out of 5 Ft10, you don’t send me any request to casual play. What do you think you can fool people into thinking we’re friends? You play me to make a point like I’ve seen done to you. And that’s suppose to be solid proof, you see when I saw you get beat in a Ft10 it didn’t just happen once, it happened a few times. And the time spacing was larger. With us it wasn’t even weeks and I pulled out 4 more wins vs you.
Phocus, it isn’t nice to lie about events. A few things, that first Ft10 we ever played. I was off to a momentum start, 4 straight wins untill New Approach entered the room and disturbed us since you didn’t make the room private.
I admit that your win is a win but also realized 3 factors, One my stupid ass was playing on a 60inch TV that didn’t show many of your few framed attacks.
Two, I needed parts swapped out of that stick because buttons had already begun to fail
Three Now that I play on a simple 20 inch TV, had that shitty stick under work you haven’t won a Ft10 since.
So don’t try to claim all high and mighty that win was enough, Mr. no combos just bait hailstorm chip.
And as I said again, if I played you again in a Ft10, you would lose once more.
Oh, and don’t forgot how you always start the game too before the score board shows lol.

Pretty dumb to come talking shit like that given you lost 4/5 against him… and in the vid of the first to ten you looked very pathetic… like you barely know how to play. Just fleeing, burning meter, mashing, and overall playing in a seeming state of desperation from the word fight in every match. I don’t even know primal… or brett for that matter… but real talk… either one of them is OBVIOUSLY much better than you. Losing a first to ten is no big deal… but the WAY you lose makes everything crystal clear… raw tags all over the place… dropped combos… potential mixups that you don’t even go for b/c you don’t even SEE them.

That’s funny, I wasn’t aware stating simple facts of how the ft10 went beforehand = talking shit. oh wait, it doesn’t. I would say “don’t be stupid” but this whole thing has been stupid from the beginning the way people are acting about the game in the current state it is in and against someone who is clearly out of practice (as I’ve played him before when, you know, the game was considerably livelier online and offline)
