It depends on when he calls the assist and what he intends to do after. If he’s constantly running from you and you’re using Magneto, as long as you don’t lose patience you will probably get to and rape him.
With My Cable as the possible exception, that pussy can’t fight up close vs Magneto or Storm at all. Their triangle jumps when used smartly just ruin things for him. He has a huge hole in his defense over his head from the ground that he can’t take are of at all.
Storm it’s even worse. She doesen’t even need to be close to Cable. Of course he could be packing Commando meaning that you risk eating it if you run. Of course, you could bait him into position to call him, wait a split second, and call your aa with Storm and air dash away so when he calls his AA it gets destroyed. And since you weren’t in the area he can’t AHVB the assist uness he wants you to disrupt it. Maybe if someone wants to try it they can. This seems alittle ballsy for my taste, but it might work if you get good at it.
Spiral can cause problems, but if Cable is backed by Storm-a or Doom, it isn’t going to be a serious concern.
Perhaps Spiral, Storm, Sentinel could solve the Cable problem. Thoughts anyone?
If you’re playing against Cable and he does a tiger knee grenade (without calling an assist first!) wave dash underneath, and he’s dead. I don’t really like challenging for air superiority unless I’m Storm, otherwise, if you can run a good ground game, find out when he’s dropping which assist, you can really get around it. Just make sure to stay out of his upper left quadrant (AHVB edge, you WILL get caught by it).

Strategies that work come from strategies that were untested at some point and possibly what could have been theory fighter at some point. It isn’t the character’s abilities, it is the player that locates these abilities and that can make the strategies useful and practical. Not every strategy a player comes up with will eventually become useful [most won’t], but as long as you search experiment, and test, sooner or later you will find something that is useful. Forgive me for wanting to play alittle theory fighter for fun occasionally.

The Toronto and GTA players aren’t far from Whitby. Some of them are good. It’s just a short [and expensive] bus route or train ride [about $7.50 for GO transit + 2.50 for TTC each way and I can get free rides into town during the week]. When I do play [which I don’t do as much as I did in Calgary which was once a week] I play against the GTA/Toronto players. I haven’t got to know them by name yet [dreadful at remembering names], but I will.
I’m a mixture of both theory fighter and actual fighter. Both are important.
Try to avoid insulting and making fun of people who post. I refuse to tell people how to dismantle most Magnetos with Cable partly because of people like this. [This is tested information, tested by me. 35W-3L, over 80% of these with Mags dying in under 15 game seconds off the start of the match. Last time I used this tactic, there was 63 seconds left on the clock when my Cable managed to defeat MSP in a hideous OCV.]
Many other players and posters feel this way and conceal their best tactics for themselves one of which includes Genghis. I’m sure that Justin and Duc do too [I haven’t seen Ducvader post in years]. Now Justin owns EVERYONE without hope of loss. And I DO remember he used to post before the fall of Shoryuken. You guys lost out BIG time.

Well I’m sorry if I haven’t been sharing my “secret tactics” but for your information I try out all my new shit at the arcade so I’m not really hiding anything. I never owned a Dreamcast so it’s not like I’m practicing it at home. Usually I’m just too lazy to post. Besides, what am I suppose to say? Just make a thread everytime I find a teeny tiny new tactic? Or maybe some tactics I only share with my friends, I didn’t realize I was obligated to share my tactics. I mean you can feel free to ask me anything and I’ll do my best to answer it. Also, I haven’t been winning much of anything and haven’t had much confidence as of late so I feel my stuff is much more outdated than a handful of people. But I’m still taking shit to the next level.
Last note, sharing your tactics is not necessarily a bad idea because you can evolve the game then develop your own counter measures at which you’ll be ahead of the game because you have already adapted to it. It’s like those new line of pharmacuticals where if you are impotent, you take a pill to fix that but leaves you with the side of effect of baldness, and only you have the fix for baldness.

What I’m worried about is when people who sucked at one time and got good, good players seeing someone get dissed, and good players that got dissed just say…

How come no one listed Spider-man or Wolverine the fact that they can hold their own against cable. Of course theres always the factor that if u mess up with either one of them u could die, but it’s do or die anyway. plus cammy can hold her own against him too. Cable players seem too have problems with cross-ups and fast combo chrc, but oh well.
Theory is correct there. I have yet to meet a Sentinal that can beat my Cable. Sentinal/CapCom still doesnt beat my Cable/Naked.
It biols down to complete Rushdown. However, the best Runaway Turtle playe(Justin Wong) Can beat the best Rush down sklled player(Rodolfo Castro-rep it Kid) anyday, simple as that. Nothing can beat can beat Cable on a consistant level.
None taken since you apologized. It’s just I know something wierd about Magneto that doesen’t help him. In fact it works against him. And ironically, one of the weakest characters in the entire game VS Magneto [Cable, cough, cough] also has an increadibly easy [IMO the easiest] time exploiting it [and with horrifying results too :eek: ].
Don’t worry, it wierds me out even MORE knowing this. The revenge has been a long time coming on Magneto’s ass.
For the record, my Cable isn’t some God-like monster or anything. It just works indescribably well vs a character [actually, a shitload of characters] he shouldn’t. No big deal really IMO. There are other characters that cause my Cable problems [some of which shouldn’t].

1]What you quoted of mine was posted a long time ago IMO let alone the fact it was a generalization of what I at the time saw in many other Cables. I didn’t see this in mine. What Cable cannot do himself, his assists can. Also, the modification to my game VS Mags occured since moving here to Ontario.

I can usually defeat Cable wit’ whomever usually X-Men or Ryu, Ken, Akuma characters just stay close and keep up wit tha combo’s and air combo’s. He’s no hard character and u people make 'em out to be:lol: not like he ever pulls a Time Flip because that can easily be blocked. Cable is just a good a balanced out character with a projectile, a charge attack, anti-air attack, a hold move and a stun attack so he’s got tha good’s but he’s not superior but he is good.
