Trying to chip cable with traps and such isn’t really a good idea because of gaurd canceling. I wouldn’t practice it.

Anyways I find that Psyloke tri-jump +teleport is a real Cable killer only if he was alone.
But I guess I shouln’t have said that since I’m a Cable player…

Why?
To an extent, but not to the point where you can get Cyclops to never come out. Cable can be in blocking animation (while not actually getting pressed by an attack) and call an assist. Even if he calls the assist a split second after blocking a hit, the assist will come out. So that’s not a solid strategy to build on.
Learn to block. No joke.
Push Cable to the corner then block. When Cable calls out his assist, call out yours and fuck him up.

Forget what I said earlier and tell me the best way to fight Cable verus Cable. I find it better to turtle and wait for their AVHB and then do your AVHB just before the laser of the other players’ HVB comes out.
One on one cable vs cable can go either way…alot of people at my arcade do this alot…including me…dash and cancel it wid a c.lk…do it bout 3 times ten jst walk up and grab…if u do it enuff wen they see u doin it the’ll think a throw is comin and try tech leaving their feet oen the u just clk lk hk ahvb…works for me:D
Dragon, doesn’t work on scrubs because they don’t tech hit or even try to. But you shouldn’t need to resort to this tactic vs. cable scrubs. AHVB their ass after their ground HVB is done.
Well the best way to beat another Cable with Cable is throwing.
Most best Cable players turtle and wait for the lk, but instead do a grab, and once they’ve adapted to grabing, you hit him with a lk, hk, AVHB.
Also lagging the hk when someone blocking the lk is also a good idea.
That’s a shitty strategy. Who’s going to do AHVB when you’re in front of them not doing anything?
Anyway, the best way to beat another Cable with Cable is:
- have a lead
- have more meter
- throw a lot, and if you whiff your throw, do a grenade.
for the most part, guard canceling is useless against Strider/Doom.
The only part that I can do with Cable against S/D is guard cancel grabing or just run like a whore.:lol:

Lagging that kick is actually not a good idea, because you will bascally let cable out of block stun alowing him to call assists. So chances are while your pulling that leg in, your gonna get caught with…say…cyclops.
KaiSung - I know Gaurd canceling is useless (for the most part) against Strider/Doom, but that isn’t the only chipping team.
personally i hate fightng cable vs cable…i like to play magnuz against cable…but wen it does happen it can be very annoying…cable vs cable one on one and with assist are very different matchups…as we kno cable cant fight by himself…he needs AAA’s or some ground coverge…like capcom AAA or sent-G…one on one i usually do the lil throw technique i put on page 2…but with assist i’m very careful…make sure and dont go after the otha cable assist cuz thats bait…they can just sj and grenade then ahvb…and most likey they’ll have meter so u can count ur cable dead…i usually try to stay in tha air calling out my assist b4 i sj, then gunshot grenade or just grenade…but if the other cable leaves tha floor i wait till i almost hit tha floor then press fp faking a gunshot in tha air…most of the times they will try catch u but miss…wastin their bar…wen they have no bar u can do cable’s lil rushdown hoping to catch them with ur assist or lk’s leading to ahvb x wuteva…thats wut i usually do…theirs my strat…wut u guys do…i’m not shure if mine is tha best way to go about it so lets hear from everyone else…
Wildcat: There arent to0 much scrubs where i play at…believe me we have our share…wen their on tha machine i usually chill wid the owner and shit till tha big boys come in…then we take em off an they are scared to come baq on…in my arcade u hardly eva see a ground hvb but wen u do…and i have cable…shit imma ahvb fo sure…wen i do play scrubs and no1’s there i usually fuck around cuz if i play seriously they’ll leave…and the thing is…i aint even top player at my arcade…there are way better people then me…

Magneto and storm are Cable’s best matchups.Unless cable has a top-tier AAA he doesn’t stand a chance.

Vdo rushes down cable and sent with rogue. That shits ridiculous. Its so hard to block all that hi low stuff and if you do block it all-Kiss. So in my book either rogue, mags or storm take care of cable on point. My only prob is the assists.
Also I believe that tron is good on projectile assist against cable, because if he has an AAA other than an invincible one like ken or maybe cammy, they will come out and get owned every time. Tron is a good anti-doom, or commando:)
Oh my gawd, who said that MM beats Cable? I’d like to beat the living hell out of them. 
That’s the biggest crock of BS I’ve heard of these forums yet: I play MM ALL the time and Cable is by far my hardest matchup!
The ONLY way MM beats Cable is if you are a REALLY smart player and keep your assists and Mega Shots away from AHVB’s. I hate the matchup.
Please don’t say MM owns Cable again until you win a tournament with him.

having said this Storm is best against him.
Rushing down is good too and Mags is good for doing that. But I think a good Cable player carefully utilizing his assists and grenades do well against Mags.
Cable/AAA (esp Cyclops) owns Sent.
