It’s not only resets that get better with the lag. Plain mixups are harder to defend against, e.g. just trying block a tri-jump becomes way harder. So even though IM/WM aren’t typically reset-dependent chars and have slower tri-jumps, they do still benefit from lag in that it’s a little easier for them to land a hit on someone (and one hit is all they need).
The main thing affected by online lag is reaction time. You can’t react properly to things when there are dropped frames. If you’re just rushing someone down, you mostly avoid facing this issue while taking advantage of it at the same time, so pretty much any char with mixups gets better. With a certain amount of lag, it’s basically impossible to react to fast mixups and you just have to guess. This is why random, sloppy Mag players can do super well online.
yeah I thought of that buff but it’s small compared to the big buffs others get. especially when you consider that online messes up your infinite and GBs enough that the few times you even manage to get in and hit that I’d hardly call it a buff. now if IM could reset as well as mags after or was just as powerful + easy DHC of death capable as storm then it would def. be a big buff
it’s really…any character with speed for the most part or with crazy zone/trap abilities get better. the speed + lag affects a lot regardless of them mixing peeps up or not.
I’m sure wolvy would make some shit hard to see…but he doesn’t do enough damage for it to matter. storm is fast in whatever she does. so she’s dropping frames while mixing up but also while running/keeping away (into a hit [into death]). sentinel dashing and especially flying drops a lot of frames too. 1 frame he’s here the next second he’s up over there hitting you back to the other side of the screen for major life. (if you’re lucky)
I’ve thought about politely disconnecting when I play cigar rather than just painfully wait through that garbage connection, but figured why bother. It does give me an actual headache to play some of that laggy stuff though. =\
i have yet to play him. I just figured out the other day that he was fantom from evo 09. and then I found sadao too. I msged them both in japanese. only ciger replied. I was really thinking about adding him as a friend simply because of the probable connection issues lol. but I did so I’ll have to check it out. I wonder if he was the 1400 ping game I saw on ranked the other day

I realize it cuts both ways, but any mechanic where you can get 2/3+ life off of one hit is what really makes someone buffer in online marvel. Glitched juggy, blackheart’s infinite, storm/sent dhc, lagnus resets, iron guy - all of that is nicely buffed.
Offline I can live off of my blocking ability > theirs, even though my offense <<<< theirs.
Might be my router/TV. But it really seems to me that his Storm is pretty poor, and only useful to him for building meter and landing the DHC. Playing people like Wenzelsaurus or Vegita-X who do the ground infinite or other fun resets… that’s the good stuff.

Rene beat me the first game, second game he may have chosen the wrong point char(OR) but I’m not sure and leaves. 3rd game he plays for a bit get hit by CC a few times and then leaves. KIDSUPERIOR just got caught in a pseudotrap with spiral. Spiral was out solo with no assist to help with lockdown, the guy tries to jump,doesn’t get out and then RQs. I’m beginning to think that barely anyone online actually plays full matches if they aren’t going to win.
