How many times has the MAS popped up the blue screen on mvc2 on the DC?
I’m not sure how many times those blue screens pop out while playing mvc2 or any fighting game. But according to many people including Zach D (the guy who mainly records tournaments and runs his website for MvC2 videos), it is best to get a PSX support for your MAS stick and get either an Innovations or Total Control Converter to connect it to a Dreamcast. If you do get a DC support for your MAS, I’ve heard that you may experience problems and blue screens in the future. If you’re asking me, I got a MAS stick with a PSX support and I ordered that Innovation Dream Connection II converter. If you’re thinking about purchasing a MAS stick, it is up to you on whether to get a PSX or DC support for it. Choose wisely :wonder:
I have also heard that as a more cemented way to fix the blue screen, is to actually remove the f1 fuse from the controller port, and solder a direct wire in between.
whoa…interesting stuff
I have not done this myself, but have read online at a few places that the reason why it works, is that the f1 fuse gets tripped by the whack wiring/printing of the pcb used in the MAS stick causing the Blue Screen of Death.
I have a MAS stick that I recently did a complete rewiring job (made it all quick disconnects) and not only did the MAS stick cause a controller disconnect on my DC, it also fried that resistor (F1 on the DC controller port board).
That resistor is a 5 ohm resistor, so I went to The Source (Radio Shack) and bought some 10 ohm resistors and replaced the busted one on my DC.
Worked like a charm. MAS stick doesn’t cause any problems anymore and the controller port on my DC is as good as new.
Do you happen to have the exact item code for that resistor? I’d much rather do that than just do a direct wire install.
Sure:

The package has 5 pieces each of 10, 22, 33 and 47 ohm resistors.
I wonder if they change the resistors at EVO?
