MvC1: Strider and Chun-Li

I just started playing MvC a week ago and I’m getting absolutely slaughtered by people online. I’ve read a lot of posts on this forum but I start to get confused. I decided to use Strider and Chun-LI. I rarely seem to kill off 1 of my opponents characters and when I do, I have very small health left.

So could anyone please give me some tips on this game. And could someone please tell me some combos for these two characters and a few strategies.
