MvC Infinite mistake made?

I’ve played Marvel since the first one… I don’t own a console at the moment; Should I have just saved my 60$ and just not bought this on pc? I can’t find a ranked or casual match… even tried refunding the game through steam but 4hrs is too much time to refund a game (spent in missions/training).

Well I did say PC was a bad idea. It’s good for graphics, training and single player content, but you’re gonna have a nightmare in ranked facing hackers and cheaters who ruin the experience for everyone.

Contact Steam directly, it isn’t the first time people have had refunds after 48 hours for valuable reasons, just tell them that you can’t find any other PC players and when you do some of them are hackers and not taking the game seriously, ruining the gameplay experience and thus your investment in this Steam title.

try looking for matches while being in training mode. some users report that the “any region” setting seem to have issues. you could also change the download region and see if this helps. anyways, have no problem finding matches constantly here in central europe. but this might be different for other regions. I guess the USA has probably the least amount of players on PC so there you might wanna get it on PS4 instead.

well apart from double character teams due to modified team preset files and rage quitter, which will also happen on console, you won’t see any cheaters in the usual sense. the way netplay is designed in fighting games doesn’t allow it to make one-sided changes to the gameplay without instantly causing desyncs with the other player.

So no playing as Ultron Sigma? Or Drone or Xguardian?

as long as these characters aren’t in the game data to begin with, you can’t force them on the other client. it only works if the character is already there but merely hidden from the select screen. this way you simply alter the file for the team preset to access characters or combinations that the game menus don’t allow you to chose.

The mistake here was not having cross-play, which is what helped with SFV.

I still don’t understand why they didn’t do it.

same reason as it was with Tekken 7, because Sony. without a XBO version crossplay wouldn’t have been a problem.

So in SFV do both players need the same patch to play with custom costumes? Because they’re not on file either but they’re forced on the other user.

if you use custom costumes you’re the only that’s seeing it. if the other player doesn’t use the mod, he simply sees the costume that is usually in this slot. think about it. for this to work Capcom actually would’ve needed to implement a feature so that mod data is exchanged before a match starts. but they isn’t even any official mod support to begin with. the netplay ignores the integrity of the game data.

I get you.

Go to training mode if you search for online matches, and use Casual/Ranked / 3+ / SAME REGION as filters …

I find matches under 1min / 30sec on PC in EU region.

Unless you live in a remote location (Australia etc), in which case you should switch your Steam region in settings (ALL REGIONS filter, in-game, seem to be buggy)

Yes you should’ve saved your fucking money.

Game is garbage.

Game is great if you like gameplay and aren’t a fucktard that thinks that the graphics are shit.

The UI isn’t great, that’s definite, but everything else people complain about is bullshit.

Go away.

“Game is great if you aren’t a fucktard who has eyes and a functioning brain and can clearly see that everything about the game is shit.”

God you Capcucks are always good for a laugh.

The game has shit graphics, a shit roster, shit DLC plans, shit stages, shit music, shit characters, shit balance, and a shitty story mode, but it apes MVC3 well enough so that dipshits like you can say the gameplay is good. Well whoopty doo

lol @ casuals who hate on a fighting game for stuff like graphics, music, stage, backgrounds, menu font, the way the light reflects off of a characters face when you pause etc etc. The core of the game is solid and innovative, but haters too worried about the frills not being up to some expectation.

Thread wasn’t even about is game good or bad but to discuss PC matchmaking, guess some ppl just love to hate.

The only shit thing about this game is that it comes prepackaged with fuckwits like you. Baggage.

Damn Marvel makes people so hostile and cranky lol

The game is ugly but it’s fun, that’s all it needs in the end. Why would you miss on a fun game just because it doesn’t have pixel perfect 4KHDR bullshit? Hell, a lot of us played SF2 for 20 years, as if the graphics were the important part here.

I also dislike the roster, but I managed to find 2 characters that I have fun with so I’m good, it’s not like I need more anyway.

And the gameplay is actually a lot closer to MvC1 (plus the stones, that are the actual novelty).
