MVC Infinite Lounge: DLC Characters and Costumes launch Dec 5th

Well after all of the TRUE BELIEVING and finally SEEING what I believed got some things to say.

  • Really glad this is actually a reality. This all basically started for me with a random ass guy who messaged me 5 months ago telling me Marvel 4 was real. He said it would show up at E3, didn’t show up at E3 and then just said it would show up later and never spoke again. That is what lit the fire, but it wasn’t until Lupinko started talking that I knew like 99.8 percent certain that the game was coming out. He leaked the last 2 Marvel 3 games and SFxT stuff so it was in the bag. Surprised at how many people forgot about him. That guy probably knows the sex of your one month prenatal child. HE is all knowing, HE is eternal. Once he started talking I drank jugs and jugs of the Kool Aid.

  • I can say that i was initially bummed at 2v2 and only 1 assist or now NO assists, but I think I’ll get over it. Technically my favorite Xmen game is still Xmen COTA and that’s a one on one “Marvel” game. I liked having 6 button Marvel games and I think Xmen vs SF is really fun for that too. Marvel 2 and Marvel 3 trading buttons for assists and DHC/THC options I always thought was a nice trade off for neutral, pressure and defensive options. The main thing that’s keeping me in is no assists potentially frees up buttons so it can be at the minimum a 4 button game. Which hopefully it is. I’m PRAYING MY ASS OFF for 6 buttons, but it’s probably not happening in 2017. I’ll swallow the pill if its a 3 attacking button game, but it’ll be a hard pill to swallow. At least 4 Capcom, there’s no assists. Give us BUTTENZ to hit.

  • To forgive the no assists (at least there’s no assists so far) I do like that the game still has the general break neck speed of Marvel and doesn’t seem much slower than Marvel 3 was. This game got that same super adrenaline rush you need from CRACK and that’s the main reason why I like these games. They just move at a speed that is unlike what else is out there and the options for tagging allow you to be creative with who you play and be able to use the tactics of more than one character in the same match.

  • I kinda guessed that gems would come back (especially since Avengers movies) and lucked out that they are back again. Thought it was a cool concept in Marvel Super Heroes and they can really flesh it out in this game. They attributed gems to grooves in CVS2 which is much better than pay to win/hard to assemble gems in XTekken. I imagine there will be some teams where certain gems are better than others and should add a lot of variety to the gameplay. Basically will end up giving every team possible 5 different play styles which is much more interesting and should be less retarded and generic than XF. TIme gem making Captain Marvel move crack fast and Power Gem making all of Ryu’s hits feel like crush counters was gdlk.

  • I NEED MORE CRACK CAPCOM. Dunno who those next 2 characters are but if they’re Venom or Viper I’m going to do a backflip. Gonna at least settle myself with 2 likely characters.

  • Casual focus should be interesting. These guys have the Marvel license so if done right this should be like their Injustice/MKX that sells like hotcakes and really gets Capcom back on the map. They have till 2017 to finish this so hopefully this becomes the mainstream blockbuster that it should be if it isn’t rushed to launch and not buggy as well. I’m not sure if they’re just going to keep SFV as a hardcore fan love letter with eSports or what, but hopefully they can do something to shake up SFV as well like add in a free to play version or something. Crack may be set to put Capcom back on the map though. Hopefully there’s some solid eSports focus for this game as well.

  • THANK YOU ALL TRUE BELIEVERS that believed with me and let’s move on to the next chapter of CRACK. Everyone else can sit on that island and play Shaq and Dive Kick.

im not very familiar with this series and i know people like to hate on it, but im still hyped for this game because it seems pretty fresh. they are not going with the expected formula. No x men is kind of a bummer, but maybe a chance to see some more unique picks we haven’t seen before in a fighter. It’s good to see something different. I also like the graphical style. The animation and facial expressions look dead (unfinished I guess), but ive never seen an aesthetic quite like this. It kind of has an aged or matured look to it, but at the same is coupled by a cartoony undertone. Similarly, you have a rainbow of colors mixing in with subdued and subtle and refined color choices…It is odd, but I find the aesthetic oddly captivating.

Plus it looks fun. I mean look at dis :<>

Great write-up, DJ. That’s pretty much where I’m at right now. I can’t wait for the extended trailer later today.

Yeah, I know, but if you’re going to put in another Hulk, gimme Jenny back.
Or Groot.

Throwin’ this out there:
-Last boss is Sentry.
-2 faces shown on body, The Void, imminent. (final round)

Looking at those combo assist… it doesn’t even look like megaman was off the screen before he was tagged back in.

I’m upset about the direction it appears to be going (it is early, so obviously things can change, and hopefully they will), but I also feel a bit vindicated regarding my Capcom hatred. I was enjoying the hype leading up to the game, and now I’m enjoying my anger at it. All is well.

The other thing to consider is that any elimination based tag-team game (or even just team game) places a heavy emphasis on momentum and control, specifically the ability to steal both and use that to win a round. In other words, in an attempt to give Marvel 3 a more balanced cast, they decided that the easiest way to implement that was to give everyone easy access to big damage, compared to trying to make it more vortex/reset oriented.

I wonder if characters will be limited to a single super (since devs claim to be making the game more casual friendly)…

Need Venom just as much as I need Shulkie and Juggs.

Super glad this game turned out to be a reality. I like the Infinity Stones / Gems being like Grooves, it’s a nice touch for both who love the comics and the VS series. Since Marvel is a goldmine and turned many casual moviegoers into Marvel fans now, hopefully this brings even more interest into the genre / FGC.

Just my 2 cents.

Trailer already shows Iron Man with both his proton cannon and the unibeam level 3 super.

I never thought about that. I always thought X-factor was just a comeback mechanic that needed to be crazy enough to match the crazy of everything else in the game, but the momentum argument makes a ton of sense. It also explains why playing lame in MVC2 was the way to go, considering how hard it was to play from behind. This all makes 2v2 sound like a smart option, but what about the Infinity Stones? Are they more likely to be a comeback mechanic, or will they just add the same power regardless of remaining teamates

its a groove system, so hopefully it has passive abilities as well as active abilities.

hero? more like zero amirite :triumph:

Iron Man did some type of different Repulsor Blast attack as well. I gotta look at it again.

Squirrel Girl and Morrigan pls

Yeah I’m expecting some gems will have notable effects for some characters, just like in MSH.

Ryu also had Shinku Hadouken and Shin Shoryuken. So multiple supers confirmed.
