A character costumes matching their background is not something worth arguing over. There’s a lot of heroes out there where their costumes is a complete disconnect from their backgrounds. Wolverine has a history of military service and has been apart of a couple black ops units. He wore a bright yellow and blue costume and that isn’t something you expect from his badass pedigree. Ben Grimm is an air force pilot and he never acts like one.
I’m honestly more interested in the Capcom side of things than the Marvel. Anyone think we’ll see a playable Nemesis again?
I’d like a version of him that doesn’t actively give me an Indian Burn whenever I pick him in character select.

Those are different cases, man. The characters you’re mentioning are FIGHTERS. Their power is completely physical, so they should wear something comfortable. You don’t see She-Hulk wearing anything but her skin tight leotard. It makes sense.
Beast, for example, has animal feelings, so he wants to dress as little as possible. Same happens to Tygra or Cheetah from the comic books.

Anyway, apparently Universal was going to do a Namor film once upon a time.
Though i think Marvel and Universal might have worked something out, but i’m not sure.

Marvel has the film rights for Namor now. Though there are some contracts that are still in place that prevents them from moving forward.
Quesada said they have the rights back, but Feige has never said so. Quesada has been wrong a number of times about movie rights, so I’d say they don’t have Namor’s rights yet.

Back then people (artists or the audience) didn’t question about that because comic books were supposed to be too too detached from reality. That doesn’t matter that much nowadays after all, the guy hasn’t been a black ops regular soldier in along time. And the costume’s so iconic no one has ever wondered about changing it in a long time.
I believe, but the end product quality is definitely in question when you look at Street Fighter V and how Capcom handled the game this year
Like I said, I really don’t care. Ideally, I get my sexy girls, and the ladies get their sexy guys - everyone wins. However the problem is, the fems want it so that they get all their sexy guys while I get absolutely nothing, which is the point me and shmurda were trying to make. That’s not fair.
Honestly I’m split with Carol in several areas. I dug her in guest appearances in all sorts of the books for decades past and loved her on EMH (Jennifer Hale YES!), but Bendis is making her terrible these days (surprise, surprise).
I grew up with her original costume so I’ve got a lot of nostalgia for it but initially didn’t mind the new one, but I dunno. It sometimes works for me and sometimes I don’t like how it’s drawn. I miss the lightning bolt though.
I think my issue is the new one has little mods that I don’t like. I greatly preferred the simpler look with longer gloves and boots as seen here :

The new one with the shorter gloves, knee padding, torso piping and panelling, and boots feels a bit off somehow to me.
I don’t mind the shorter hair, but I personally would prefer her having a different short cut. That’s just me though. She’s gonna be on the roster, so I hope she’s fun at least and that Bendis is kept far, faaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from any potential writing duties for the game.
