What the fuck is this? Why does everyone have stupid tumblr dyke hair? This is driving me nuts, they’re making every character into Zarya from Overwatch and removing anything even remotely interesting about their appearance.
Anyone can buy a domain and have it redirected to Capcom’s website.
Do a Whois on that domain and find out who owns it. Don’t be surprised if that domain was created within the last few days and is registered under some gmail or hotmail e-mail address. You may be able to find the exact location of where the domain was registered.
It’s highly likely a troll attempt if that domain isn’t registered by Capcom USA or Japan.
Posted this on Neogaf, but figured I’d post it here as well.
So I think I found something interesting. I was thinking of how much of a troll the marvelvscapcom4.com redirect was. Then my friend pointed out that the fact that Capcom hadn’t registered Marvelvscapcom4.com yet probably meant it wasn’t coming out. So I was thinking, well either A) they dropped the ball on registering the website (maybe they didn’t want people to guess that it was coming out so didn’t register it or just didn’t think to do it yet?) or B) maybe they’re trying to be edgy and just titling the new game as Marvel vs Capcom with no number.
So anyway, I type in marvelvscapcom.com into my browser. It’s a blank page. So I do a whois on it and turns out it was registered YESTERDAY to “Adam Charles” of San Francisco. Who is this guy?
So I go to his Linked In and find some interesting stuff:
So he works for a Japanese ad company as a community manager and this company also happens to work with Marvel Comics. Interesting eh?
EDIT 1:
Some fighting game stuff that he’s been involved in found on his linked in:
Not only is Adways Japanese and have a relationship with Marvel Comics, Capcom is also a client. However, everything suggests that Adways is primarily focused on the mobile market. That can be interpreted in a lot of ways, including some that would be disappointing if true. I hope at worst this is a mobile tie-in to a real game similar to what Injustice did.
You know, assuming this is real, I could see marvelvscapcom.com being the website for Marvel 4.
It reminds me a whole lot of the website for Smash 4. The URL of both smashbros.com and marvelvscapcom.com make it out to be general Smash Brothers and MvC related websites respectively, not specifically linked to either Smash or Marvel 4. I could easily see Capcom pulling a fast one and make new registered MvC domain Marvel 4’s.
If it’s true about a port of UMvC3 to PS4 (which I think makes a ton of sense since the recently revived Curleh Mustache will be UMvC3 as well as Iron Galaxy tweeting that they’re randomly streaming the game), then marvelvscapcom.com can be a hub for both games.
There is a possibility that a UMvC3 port is all that will be announced this weekend. But I guess there’s also the possibility that they’ll announce a port of UMvC3 early and then MvC4 later to take the fans on an emotional rollercoaster.
