Wolverine himself said that Cyclops was the male role model he aspired to be. (AvX Consequences)
And Wolverine was popular until he joined and stanned the Avengers more than the X-Men. He was on a downhill slope till they ākilled himā and replaced him with OML, which is basically a compilation of the early cool traits of Wolverine.
Lemme know when this matters to the public eye. People who read comics arenāt the only ones who determine image, and Wolverine gets treated INCREDIBLY more favorably than Cyclops in almost every instance. Can you say with absolute certainty that Cyclops, throughout his media appearances has shown off his leadership skill effectively? TAS and Evolution were done well enough, but Wolverine and the X-Men not so much. His presence in the movies too doesnāt convey what people are saying in here, where heās mostly just there instead of being a leader who gets stuff done.
Besides Iāll gladly take Wolverine over Mr āCommit Psychic Adulteryā.
Wolverine and the X-Men deliberately made Cyclops into a loser. He was absent for a huge part of the series and when he got a spotlight episode he was made into an emo living in a run down apartment wearing Gambitās trench coat still mourning over Jean and unable to move on with life. That series completely shitted on him.
For what itās worth, WatX would probably have done more for Cyclops in the next season if it would have had one. Apocalypse is pretty tied in with the Summers family tree.
As someone who only read the comics readily in the 80ās and 90ās and hates all things cartoon I realize Iām thoroughly antiquated for this cyclops is cool or not discussion. As far as his leadship skills, the XMEN theme is all about the struggle, they like to try and keep clean cut wins to a minimum thusly almost every XMEN character leader goes through mad shit. Cyclops being the leader through most of the series is just an extension of the struggle theme really.
Avengers and Cap wins are way more black and white.
Can we get back to actual game discussion instead of arguing over Marvelās booking.
In any case, Iāve been wondering, since the game is using hitstun decay again, will there be attacks that ignore it like in UMvC3? Because people have been using that shizz to create non-TAC infiites (in fact, a new one for Trish using round trip was recently discovered).
Umvc3 hsd was pretty good tbh. After the last patch, all the point infinites are extremely difficult so all thatās left is TAC infinites and even then, no infinites in mvci.
My speculation on the hsd in mvci will be that all hitstuns will follow hsd. So eventually, every move will cause a tech. You can see this with ultron vs chun footage. He c.HK first which causes hard knockdown. The second time he does it in the same combo, chun techs out.
Itāll be fun to see how we can push the combo system
If they hire anyone like Woshige for Marvel Infinite there will definitely be an attack on a lot of the stuff that was abuseable mechanic wise in Marvel 3. Iām sure theyāll be looking at their errors with lightning loops and TAC infinites which honestly were just big oversights that let you do cute stuff.
