Next month see’s the start of Marvel’s “RessurXion” revamp of the X-Men which is supposed to bring them back into prominence somewhat similar to the 90’s with a ton of new books. With this new attitude towards them, I wonder what this means for the game.

Considering some characters were still being debated on towards the end of UMVC3’s development, I can’t see much stopping X-Men from being added in before release. In fact, that may be a reason why we haven’t heard a word about this game for so long.

The community guy did say all of the silence would definitely be “worth the wait”, so we’ll see.

If by ‘‘worth the wait’’ he means getting like a 10 character reveal trailer with at least 3 stages and a system mechanic explanation. They’re pushing it.

Spoiler Alert:

Upset that the Sigma/Ultron Hybrid stole his giant gold fist to use as the Infinity Gauntlet, Scrooge’s natural rage at having something stolen from him overcomes the Gauntlet’s godly power and Scrooge winds up in possession of the gauntlet and all the gems, which he puts in his money bin. Serving as the final boss, the player’s team will have to overcome Scrooge in his money bin to reclaim the gems and spread them across the universe once more.

Juggernaut hasn’t been a major player in the comics (or movies) for some time now though.

Most likely, we’ll be seeing X-Men who’re getting a major push in the comics that also have series history such as Iceman, Jean (who’s her time displaced version now, which gives them an excuse to rework her more as Marvel Girl than Phoenix… oh wait, the first arc of her new solo book is all about the Phoenix Force), (Magnus advisor to the Blue Team), Storm leads Gold Team), etc.

with the ducktales reboot coming, it would actually be mutually beneficial for Scrooge to be in the game for both Disney and Capcom, but it probably has no chance of happening.
