Heâd have the venom sting for the same reason Ryu has denjin mode in UMVC3 when he doesnât have it in any other game. For gameplay purposes and nothing else.
But since you really seem to want a story explanation, they can just say that Peter met Miles, saw Milesâ venom abilities and developed a simple electricity-discharging device for himself that functions the same way as Milesâ venom. Since this is a crossover game and it will have a cinematic story mode, anything is possible.
If youâd like, we can just scrap Miles from the picture altogether and keep Peter Parker Spiderman without any venom. Works for me.
Some character talk in this thread is fine since thereâs not much to talk about just yet, but some of this shit straight up belongs in the actual character thread.
I feel like team building and synergy has always played into the strengths of Marvel. Obviously not every character will be on par with the other, but itâs fun heading into the lab and discovering a characters limitations, how could they improve if gems gave them specific abilities, and so forth. In a game like Marvel, broken shit is going to be discovered regardless of what they do. Well, that is sooner or later.
I really donât like the idea of character-specific abilities in a game where you select your gem before the fight. It made sense in MSH because all 6 gems were actually in the match and you had to battle for control of them (added an interesting layer to footsies/neutral). You pick your gem manually here, so adding some special reward isnât necessary.
I hope to see soon how often tags/gems are supposed to be in play, as that will be a huge factor in how impactful Capcom will make them.
This, as much as they try, there are characters who are going to synergize better with others. Look at SFxT where you had character combinations that gave better combos. Or even Skullgirls where custom assists should allow for more combinations, yet there are still specific teams and assist combinations that work better than others.
Marvel wonât allow Capcom to give Peter Miles powers. Knowing how anal they were with Doctor Strange in the last game there no way theyâll give the OK to give one of their characters powers they donât have.
As long as it consumes 3 bars or even more, then sure. Have both characters on screen with unlimited supers for a while.
However, is still a big risk for the duo since you can be caught in a Shinkuu Hadouken or the like if you are out of position. It isnât an auto win strategy so I say go for it.
Steam. As if I had the choice anyway.
Really hope they will add crossplay to this game too so that their competitors will definitely be forced to think about it. Hell, this might even be the first FG with crossplay on three different platforms.
Street Fighter doesnât really have a great track record in Marvel vs Capcom games (not sure their quality in Xmen v Street Fighter). There was I think Chun being really good in MvC 1, and Akuma/C.Viper being upper mid tier in MvC3, but I think thatâs it. Feel free to correct me on this.
Three different platforms will be a stretch. I can see PS4/Steam cross play but definitely not Xbox. Xbox cross play seems to be reserved for Microsoft exclusives.
