The best way I can describe the art style is a slightly more down-to-earth MvC3. Elements of it are still there, particularly for characters like X who need massive eyes to maintain their body proportions, but the cel shading isnât quite as strong this time.
As for the gems, so far weâve seen Power as a damage/combo boost and Time with teleportation/Custom Combos. We have yet to see Space, Soul, Mind, and Reality.

[] Space: In MSH, the Space gem gave a defense boost and limited super armor. I think this should be easy to transfer into a modern game and could be really fun. Imagine turning the big bodies into their old school forms with passive armor!
[] Soul: In MSH, the Soul gem allowed for health recovery. The amount wasnât a whole lot, but any healing can be good if done right. I donât know if this would transfer well to a modern game, so changes may occur.
[] Mind: In MSH, the Mind gem caused your super meter to fill quickly. This allowed for crazy shit like a Juggernaut with 2 bars to link 3 Head Crush supers in a row. May or may not be changed, but an effect that builds extra meter would be good for Vergil/Dormammu types that get a lot of value from it.
[] Reality: In MSH, the Reality gem caused projectiles to shoot out on top of your normals. The best analogue I have is MvC3âs Dark Phoenix. The normal is still there, but you get stuff on top of that. Not sure if this would be a good idea to bring back as the MSH versionâs projectiles were kinda random, but with some tweaks it could be great for putting lots of hitboxes on screen like you MvC3 crackheads want.

In this way, gems can replace assists as combo extenders, defensive tools, and lockdown. I have no doubt that building effective pairs and choosing the right gem will be critical to high level play, and canât wait to see what people come up with.

Sounds like this is the game for you. Both new characers look good. Hopefully how dark the game seems atm is a result of the stage and not something general about the game
