Since Disney is on a diversity kick with Marvel we may get more than 1 black characters this time around.
Granted it could be as obvious as Tchalla and DLC Storm.
I’d say Storm and T’Challa are safe bets. Luke Cage, Blade, Monica Rambeau & War Machine could happen too. I’d love to see a redesigned War Machine with rockets, missiles & machine guns.
Today was the debut of the Kingpin comic and I loved it.
As one of the arch nemesis of Daredevil, Spiderman and Punisher, I wouldn’t mind him in this game at all.
Wilson Fisk is always cool in my book.
People asking for Jack Baker are out of their minds. It should be Marguerite Baker shooting bugs out of her vagina.

RE7 was great for horror, but I wouldn’t suggest any of its characters for a fighting game.
Kingpin as a Haggar/Phoenix Wright hybrid that calls goons as an assist
Dude can do enough damage by himself. See the Daredevil series if you don’t believe me. He’d be a sick addition to the cast.
Since we know he was considered for MVC3, it makes me wonder if the new team might consider him.
He’s pretty important in the Daredevil Netflix series, so it’s possible.
He also gets a mention in Luke Cage. I think it’s a longshot for him to be in the game, though. He’d be an awesome savage-grappler type if he did make it in.

Kingpin is always underestimated by most people (except obviously his common foes that know better) for being big and chunky but that fatty can fight martial arts with the best of them (think Geese Howard) and he does have natural strength almost reaching superstrength levels.
Considering that Kingpin would be like fourth on the list of Spiderman nemesis (Green Goblin, Venom, Dr. Octopus) and he covers more of the Marvel Universe than Spiderman, I think he would fit in nicely and for Capcom, if Haggar returns or Cody comes in, perfect rival right there.
I never thought of Kingpin being viable but looking over his abilities he seems like he’d fit in decently. It’d be cool to swagger on people with that pimp cane of his.
Yknow as much as I don’t like Falcon, wait…he’s captain america in the books now or nah? If they go by the movies (which they likely will) he could have some neat stuff…kind of like a jacked firebrand maybe?
On Kingpin he was always on my wishlists. One of my favorite Marvel villains.
If Firebrand is not coming back (RIP) then I would happily accept Falcon as a pseudo-replacement.

Man, Kingpin would be so cool in a VS game. He’s pretty damn fast as well. I could see him being deceptively fast despite his looks in the battle system. I’m already imagining his Energy Cane being one of his hypers, or at the very least, a special move. His command grab would be a bearhug. Since Spidey and Daredevil have both said hitting Fisk is almost like punching a brickwall, I could even see some of his moves having armor on them. So many possibilities…
Since story is going to be pretty significant, I could see him at least making an appearance there. Fisk did appear in Chun-Li’s ending. We need a playable Fisk, though.
I do hope that gameplay wise it will be as good as UMVC3. UMVC3 got shitted on for it’s roster but the truth is, it is a very good game. Chemistry and knowing how to work that chemistry is more important than tiers. If someone hits the disagree then he hasn’t been watching (whether through stream or IRL) the metagame. We have seen teams who look so low tier on paper, starting with Ageojoe, to iHeartJustice’s team, that guy that plays Chunli/Morrigan(DH)/Phoenix, in competitive play. Which shows how balanced this game is… sure, most need the same dooms and vergils but we have to be honest and admit that we have seen other teams do very well. You just can’t get the same level of entertainment watching a video game event other than a UMVC3 tourney.
UMVC3’s gameplay was way better than expected, especially from the way people reacted to the roster. I hope MVCI gets the best of both worlds, with a better roster and a well balanced and entertaining gameplay.
Would IHeartJustice and the Chun guy put up a fight with UMVC3 gods in their prime? I feel weird teams are getting more results because most of Marvel players moved on.
I think RyanLV would. The way he plays his team gives me the impression that he’d keep up with them just fine. His Chun alone makes Zero May Cry teams look free, and his movement is incredible. He’s been playing since Vanilla, but only in recent yrs has he had the opportunity to travel. Chris G is still really good, but RyanLV consistently beats him. All of the people that stuck with the game and continued to refine their gameplay can’t beat him. Not sure about Justice, but he always did well in general.

Capcom wouldn’t put in entirely predictable picks. They’d omit some obvious choices to put in some obscure weirdos, as well as pick characters based on playstyle. Your list has no big guys. Capcom would never forget big guys.
