I’d be pleasantly surprised if Nemesis made it in. I was super surprised when he made it into mvc3. He was my number 1 pic. I tried damn hard
to make him work too. (I had a pretty mean Nemesis actually) but the coolest aspects of him sucked. Chance in hell that he’d make a return but
if he does, if he’s retooled and actually has some kind of meta they have my money.
I used Storm and Cyclops as my mains in XvSF cos they’re easy to use and great for spamming
I don’t understand how anyone could use the word “cool” to describe Cyclops. I don’t hate him, but he’s always been boring.
They tried to make him angsty. They gave him the Phoenix. They even made him EVIL for a while. But he was still boring.
This is fine and all, since the cool characters need someone to foil against, but trying to call him cool just doesn’t make sense to me.
Regarding X-men requests:
I’m frankly astounded that Nightcrawler hasn’t ever been put in. Teleportation and swords seems like the perfect fit for a Vs game.
(Yes, I’m aware that he’s been dead/replaced/revived in the comics)
Who’s dead or alive is not what determines who Marvel pushes for this game. It’s who will attract the most people to their current/upcoming merchandise. In this regard, I would actually put Cyclops higher on my list of characters likely to make it than classic Wolverine. While Cyclops is dead, his death is more or less the spark that ignited IvX, which makes him important. IvX is the biggest X-Men related event going on right now, so if they are considering X-Men for the roster then that is how they are likely to promote the X-Men reps. I would look for Storm and Magneto (obviously), Emma Frost, Cyclops, Beast, and any of the Royal Inhuman family aside from maybe Black Bolt (hard to design gameplay-wise). Classic Wolvie is showing no signs of returning and Marvel has shown that they still like to line up their roster with Fox productions despite the feud so I’d bet on OML being the default, with classic as a skin/costume.
Not at all. I do like him, especially back in the 90s. Wouldn’t say he’s my favorite, but he’s in my top 20 X-Men list.
It’s just that i know he’s not guaranteed. I mean hell, i thought there was no way he would be left out of MvC3 and look where that got me.
I’m not saying he won’t be in the game, i’m just saying i’m not going to assume he’s guaranteed to be in the game. Especially since he’s not treated as a priority these days.
So i hope he makes it, but i wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t.

When it comes to the Royal Family, the easiest to makes moves for would probably be Medusa and/or Crystal.

Teleportation with swords has actually been done to death arleady. Granted they could get creative and have his teleport maintain his moving momentum, have less lag time between ports or something.
Have them be part of his attacks?
Nightcrawler should have tracking AND screen position teleports, like Wesker’s.

At this point, yes, it’s been done to death. But it’s obviously a thing that the series is good at, and I’m amazed that he never made an appearance in any of the games, especially COTA and XvSF.
Assuming they are bringing back separate punch and kick buttons, you could make one set of TPs for attacks and another set just for movement. For how many characters have teleports (including some that don’t even make sense), none of them are built around the mechanic. Could be really interesting and fun.
Dammit, now I’m getting myself hyped up over this when I know it’s a lost cause.
What if qcb qcf and dp P teleported him in front, head, back of the opponent, and qcb qcf and dp K teleported him in the right, center and left of the screen, keeping his height if he did it in the air.
It would be fun if his specials were only teleports.
